Cliff's Notes Cliff's Notes

Dear Bedford Public Schools Community,

As we turn the corner into May—with tulips blooming and warmer weather arriving—I encourage everyone to take a moment to celebrate the progress our students have made this year. We are seeing that growth in many ways: through assessments currently underway, and through the skills students demonstrate on stage, on the courts and fields, and on display at the K–12 Art Show.

With Teacher Appreciation Week approaching (along with opportunities to recognize our principals, nutrition staff, administrative support staff, and many others), I want to express my sincere gratitude to every member of our community who contributes to a positive and inclusive learning environment for our students.

Best,

Cliff Chuang 莊 宏 毅

Superintendent, Bedford Public Schools

Bedford Public Schools is proud to have been recognized as one of only two Massachusetts Green Ribbon School designees for 2026, and will be awarded by DESE (Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education) at the May 19th School Committee meeting. This statewide honor recognizes Bedford's leadership in sustainability, health, wellness, and environmental learning. This award highlights Bedford’s districtwide approach to sustainability, which goes far beyond just the buildings, into the classroom & beyond. The district has reduced its environmental footprint through participation in 100 percent renewable electricity, building decarbonization efforts, and robust waste reduction and reuse practices, prioritizing health & wellness through high indoor air quality standards, green cleaning practices, and farm-to-school programming. Sustainability is embedded throughout the curriculum with outdoor experiences, student-led initiatives, and partnerships that connect students to STEM learning and green career pathways.
