2nd Chance Breakfast

Beginning 2nd quarter, we will be bringing back 2nd Chance Breakfast. Thank you to our Food Service Staff! During Scarlet Time, students will be able to pick up a grab and go breakfast in the cafeteria, and at a station on 2nd floor. Please be reminded that all students receive one free breakfast. If a student eats breakfast before school, and wants a 2nd breakfast, they would have to have money in their lunch account to get the 2nd breakfast. If the student didn't take the before school breakfast, 2nd Chance Breakfast would be their one free breakfast. This will begin on November 12.

Stuff a Truck Contest

The SHINE club will be supporting Stuff A Truck for our local Echo Food Shelf. The 2nd Hour/Scarlet Time classroom that has the most food by November 21 will win donuts. The goal is to help Echo fill their shelves for the holiday season and beyond. Please bring in shelf stable food (cans, boxes and packaged) to be donated. Thank you, SHINE Club!

Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to Mr. Sipe who was named Mankato Teacher of the Year. Mr. Sipe is a social studies teacher who teaches U.S. History, Psychology and AP Psychology. Mr. Sipe also serves as the senior class advisor. We have always known what an incredible teacher Mr. Sipe is, and now all of Mankato will know!

Dr. King's Speech - November 12, 1961

Did you know that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. spoke right here in our auditorium in 1961? His speech, titled Facing the Challenge of a New Age, resonates just as powerfully today. Our students chose a line from that speech to highlight in their mural, believing its message endures: "We must rise above the narrow confines of our individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity."

This inspiring quote now stands as a reminder in our auditorium of Dr. King’s lasting impact and the values we continue to uphold.
