Sixth Day Enrollment
The Board reviewed the annual sixth day enrollment report for the 2025-2026 school year. Each school year, District 211 analyzes actual enrollment on the sixth day of school to compare against the projected enrollment and the enrollment of previous school years. The official enrollment on the sixth day of the 2025-2026 school year (August 18) was 12,262 students. This is 50 students less than the predicted enrollment provided in March 2025, and 50 students less than were enrolled on the sixth day of the 2024-2025 school year. This data is used as a foundation for District funding, staffing, and operational planning.

Class Size Committee Report
The Class Size Committee reviewed enrollment data from the first semester of the 2025–2026 school year, which included 3,423 course sections across five high schools serving nearly 12,000 students. Less than 1 percent of sections exceeded class size guidelines, and each by only one student, even as the District welcomed 300 additional students within the first month of school. This review underscores District 211’s commitment to equitable access, high-quality learning, and responsible resource management. Monitoring class size is essential to ensuring that every student in District 211 has access to high-quality learning experiences in alignment with our mission and Strategic Plan goals of academic growth, college and career readiness, and on-time graduation. By maintaining balanced class sizes, we uphold our values of equity and inclusion by providing students with equitable opportunities for engagement, individualized support, and success.

2025 Tax Levy Introduction
Each year, taxing districts determine the amount of revenue necessary through property taxes for the following year’s budget. The amount of taxes requested by each taxing body is called a tax levy. Each year, the tax levy must be filed with the Cook County Clerk who determines the tax rate necessary to assess property taxes in order to generate the amount of the levy filed by each taxing body by the last Tuesday in December. All Cook County taxing districts operate under the Property Tax Extension Limitation Law (PTELL) commonly referred to as the “Tax Cap.” The Tax Cap limits the rate at which a taxing body may increase its levy from the prior year’s levy amount. The limitation at which this portion of the total levy may increase is established by the change in the Consumer Price Index for Urban Consumers (CPI-U) from the previous calendar year.
More information about the 2025 tax levy is available here.
