YOUR WEEKLY COMMUNICATION ABOUT ALL THINGS MURASKI

Muraski Tribune22-23: Issue 33YOUR WEEKLY COMMUNICATION ABOUT ALL THINGSMURASKI

A Message from the Principals

Good Morning Muraski Families,

With wrapped up last week with two phenomenal days of school. Mrs. Moon, Mrs. Valichnac, and Ms. Dykstra led our incredible students in the Art Show, where students visual arts were on display, students' musical talents in the choir were on display, and we even had a skit put on by some of our amazing 5th graders.

On Friday, we celebrated an SEL day with the support of our PTA. During this day the students were able to enjoy a presentation by an author, see animals with Jungle Terry, choose from a variety of arts and fitness experiences, do some breathing and yoga, as well engage in other activities that promote the growth and development of the whole child. Thank you to the PTA for the support.

We were also able to celebrate and OUTSTANDING Staff Appreciation Week! Our staff felt so appreciated with the events, breakfasts, and lunches. It was awesome because of you all, as well as our amazing PTA.

We have two more exciting weeks. Let's make them great ones at Muraski!

Let's have a great week!

Mike Griffen

Students Will Be Keeping Their District Chromebook This Summer: Grades 3-5

Students in grades 3-12 will be keeping their Chromebooks over the summer break. Students will be responsible for keeping the Chromebooks and their cases in working order for use next year. If your student does experience any issues with their Chromebook over the summer, please click HERE or visit bit.ly/scssummertechticket to submit a Tech Ticket. A Tech Department member will contact you within two business days to assist. If your student is leaving the district over the summer, they will need to turn in their Chromebook on the last day of school. Please click HERE or visit bit.ly/scscbl to submit your student’s name to inform our department to collect the Chromebook. If you have any questions, please contact Dave Binkley at dbinkley@scsmustangs.org.

Summer Learning Registration Has Started

Summer Learning registration has begun. Summer Learning is an opportunity for students who need academic support to get targeted instruction based on critical grade level standards and skills. For Grades K-5, if your child was invited to participate this year, you should have received your invitation via email from Mary Marconi last Friday, April 21.

  • If you have had conversations with your child's teacher(s) regarding academic support throughout this school year, please look through your email to see if you received an invitation. The link to sign up for Summer Learning is on that invite.

  • Invitations to 6-10th grade students recommended for Summer Learning Support in English and/or math were emailed to parents recently. Please look for an email from Mary Marconi with the subject "Strongsville Schools Summer Learning Invitation" in your inbox. Registration information and details can be found there.

  • Enrollment for High School Credit Advancement, Credit Recovery and 6-12 Makerspace Camp is also open. You can find information about these programs HERE.

  • If you have any questions, please email grade K-5 questions to Amy Pinney (apinney@scsmustangs.org)

First Annual Muraski Career Fair

In an effort to provide students with exposure and access to information about various careers and pathways after schooling, with the help of our PTA and Parents within the community, Muraski is excited to bring a career fair to the school.

During this day, students will get to hear from individuals in a variety of fields, so students know what is out there and available to them. Our hope is to encourage them to dream big, but also see the connection between education and whatever their future might hold. With this, we will emphasize our Model Mustang Competencies, developing students that are:

Collaborative

Innovative

Empowered

Global

Impact of Unpaid School Fees

As a reminder, all school fees that have not been paid are now considered past due. To check the balance and pay outstanding school fees, go to Pay Schools Central by clicking HERE. In addition to Pay Schools Central, school fees can be paid by cash/check to your student’s building secretary or with the Treasurer's Office. If you have questions related to this, please contact the building secretary or Dawn Evangelista (devangelista@scsmustangs.org) within the Treasurer's Department. As we are approaching a new school year, as well as the start of fall sports, per Board of Education policy, the consequences for outstanding prior year school fees will prohibit students from participating in any school extracurricular activities (i.e., athletics, student council, school clubs, etc.), field trips, and school sanctioned dances / events that require a purchased ticket.
