Message from Mr. Cranberry
Dear Middle School Parents and students,
Thank you to all the parents and students who came out for our Hispanic Cultural Night! It was wonderful to see so many of you come together, enjoy some nachos, and celebrate Hispanic culture as a school community. We appreciate your continued support of IACS and the time you take to participate in these events. It was a fun evening, and we are grateful to have such a supportive school community!
Parents, please make it a habit to check PowerSchool regularly to stay up to date on your studentโs grades, absences, and tardies. This is a great opportunity to identify missing assignments, communicate with teachers, and make plans for retakes or other opportunities to improve grades. Second quarter will be over before we know it, so now is the time to check in, make a plan, and finish strong!
Students, we also need to continue working on improving our tardies. Getting to class on time is an important part of being successful, and every minute of instructional time matters. Please take ownership of your grades, attendance, and punctuality.
Finally, a quick reminder about student drop-off and pick-up. As the weather gets colder, wetter, and more unpredictable, we need everyone to be extra cautious in our parking lots and around campus. Rain, fog, reduced visibility, and slippery roads can make it harder to see students and other vehicles. Please drive slowly, watch carefully for students walking through the parking lot, and follow our drop-off and pick-up procedures. We want everyone to get to and from school safely, so thank you for being patient, alert, and considerate of others. We appreciate all you do to make IACS a great place to learn and grow!
Thank you,
Mr. Cranberry

Red Ribbon Week
October 26-30th
Red Ribbon Week is a national campaign that encourages students to make healthy choices and live drug-free. Its purpose is to raise awareness about the dangers of drug and alcohol use, promote positive decision-making, and encourage students to take care of themselves and their futures.
At IACS, Red Ribbon Week is an opportunity to remind our students that the choices they make today can have a lasting impact on their lives. We encourage families to use this week as an opportunity to talk with their children about making safe, healthy choices and building a bright future!

Halloween Friday
๐ Halloween Costume Guidelines โ October 30
Parents and students,
On Friday, October 30, middle school students will be allowed to wear Halloween costumes to school! We are excited to have some fun and celebrate Halloween together. With that said, there are a few guidelines we ask everyone to follow so that costumes remain appropriate and do not interfere with the school day.
During the school day, masks and face paint will not be allowed. Both will, however, be allowed at the Halloween Dance later that evening. We are also asking students to leave props and inflatable costumes at home. Props can be distracting in the classroom, and inflatable costumes are bulky and have unfortunately been accidentally popped or damaged at school in the past.
Please take a moment to review the graphic below for more details about what is acceptable to wear during the school day versus what will be allowed at the dance. We want everyone to have a fun, safe, and memorable Halloween while still keeping our school day focused on learning.
We can't wait to see everyone's creativity! ๐๐ป

We need you!
We're excited to begin building the IACS Booster Club, a parent and community organization focused on supporting the secondary arts programs at Idaho Arts Charter School.
Our students participate in visual arts, drama, choir, band, orchestra, and dance throughout the school day. The Booster Club is being created to bring families and community members together to support these programs through volunteering, fundraising, and community involvement.
As we get things started, we're looking for parents, family members, and community supporters who would like to stay informed, share ideas, volunteer, or help us grow the Booster Club.
This fall, we'll launch our first annual Month of Giving campaign, Ignite the Arts: Fuel the Flight, kicking off at Fall Festival on September 26th and continuing throughout October.
We're excited about what's ahead and the opportunities we can create for students when families and community members come together to support the arts.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
