Breathe California Sacramento Region (SacBreathe) and Sacramento Area Bicycle Advocates (SABA) will be at Sami’s Circuit on February 5 to share information and answer questions about Greer Elementary’s Safe Routes to School (SRTS) program, running February–June 2026.

SRTS helps students learn safe walking and biking skills and practice traveling to school together in groups.

Stop by to learn more and find out how students and families can participate.

All San Juan Unified School District parents/guardians and students (grades 4-12) are invited to participate in the annual school experience survey and provide their feedback about topics like:

• Family and staff engagement

• Safety

• Student engagement

• And more!

Your feedback is vital and informs school leaders of the changes needed in their communities.

Visit sanjuan.edu/annualsurvey to participate by Feb. 6. The survey is available in multiple languages.

Parents, school staff, and community members are invited to join the Safe Routes to School Steering Committee. Help improve student safety as they walk, bike, or roll to school.

It’s time to enroll your child in transitional kindergarten or kindergarten for the 2026-27 school year.

San Juan Unified offers a welcoming, nurturing environment where young learners can explore, grow and build a strong foundation for lifelong success. Families may choose from a variety of part-day and full-day options for both transitional kindergarten (TK) and kindergarten.

• Transitional Kindergarten: Children who turn 4 on or before Sept. 1, 2026, are eligible for TK.

• Kindergarten: Children who turn 5 on or before Sept. 1, 2026, may register for kindergarten.

Enrollment for the 2026-27 school year began on Feb. 2. Families may complete the process online by uploading required documents, including proof of age, immunization records and proof of address.

There has been an increase of cars using the South side parking lot (Hurley and Dealynn) to drop off and/or pick up their student before and after school. Please remember this parking lot is specifically allocated for Special Education and TK USE ONLY. This is causing safety concerns as well as our busses are unable to access their designated parking area.

Signs have been reposted as a reminder, and there will be staff enforcing these procedures starting Friday, January 16th. Please note all families should be dropping off and picking up using the main entrance (Bell Street) before and after school. Thank you for supporting us to keep all students safe.
