As Hispanic Heritage Month comes to a close, we’re proud to recognize the Greater Kansas City Hispanic Development Fund (HDF) and their longstanding commitment to expanding educational opportunities for Latino students and families in our community.

For more than 40 years, HDF has helped make higher education more accessible to Kansas City students. Through scholarships, college preparation, bilingual family support, and partnerships with local colleges and universities, HDF helps students and families navigate the path to college and opens doors to opportunities that can have an impact for generations.

We’re grateful for HDF’s continued investment in Kansas City’s students and for the important role they play in creating a stronger, more accessible educational landscape across our region.

Join us for this year's Fall Festival on Friday, October 23, from 5:30–7:30 pm right on the campus of Midtown Community School!

We’re planning a fun evening for the whole family featuring trunk-or-treating, games and activities, music, food, prizes, and more! The trunk-or-treat will be free for all school-aged children, but food items, games, and activities will cost tickets, which are $1 each. You can RSVP and pre-order food & game tickets here or using the form below.

Please help us make the Fall Festival a success! We’re looking for families and community members to host trunks, run game booths, donate candy, and assist with setup and cleanup. Community partners and area businesses are also invited to participate by hosting a trunk or activity.

Click here to sign up to volunteer or donate! To make a general donation toward the event, text FEST to 816-355-4920

Thank you for your support. We can’t wait to celebrate fall with our Midtown community!

Family Conferences - October 28th-29th Family Conferences - October 28th-29th

Fall family conferences will take place on October 28th from 4-8 pm and on October 29th from 8 am to 8 pm. You should be receiving conference sign-ups from teachers soon if you haven't already, and those links will also continue to be added to this conference sign-up list this week. Middle school families only need to sign up for a time with their student's Personal Development teacher.

Students in grades 4-8 who participated in the MAP Assessment at MCS last year will be able to get their 2026 MAP scores during these conferences.

There will be no CampFire on October 28th to accommodate the space needed for conferences. Additionally, there will be no school on October 29th for conferences and no school on October 30th for fall break.
