Message From School Administration
Dear Lisbon Families,
November is a very busy month for our school community! The window to sign up for a conference with your child's teacher opened just this morning. We hope that you will schedule a time to discuss your child's progress. Please call the front office if you need assistance with the scheduling system.
We are looking forward to honoring our veterans at our school celebration on November 10th! We hope you will join us for a special presentation and breakfast. We would like to extend a sincere thank you to all who have helped sponsor and organize the event.
Mark your calendars for American Education Week, November 17th–21st! We hope you’ll be able to visit and see some of the great teaching and learning that happens at LES every day. More information can be found below.
Finally, we’d like to remind everyone that our Food Pantry will be open to the community on Thursday, November 13th. Also, it’s not too late to sign up for a Thanksgiving Basket if it would benefit your family this holiday season. We want to ensure that every family has what they need to enjoy a special Thanksgiving meal.
With gratitude,
Dr. Carr & Mr. Scobie

HCPSS Pre-K Program
Families that have been affected by the federal government shutdown and who would not ordinarily qualify for the Pre-K program could now be eligible due to their current loss of income. Howard County families who have lost pay due to the shutdown, even those families who have previously applied and did not meet Tier I eligibility, may apply. If your family qualifies, the Pre-K program would be offered at no cost to your family for the remainder of the school year. Please submit a completed application and the required income documentation to: hcpss_pk@hcpss.org. Application submissions must include the required income documentation in order for our office to determine eligibility. If you have any questions, please contact the Office of Early Childhood Program by email at hcpss_pk@hcpss.org or by phone at 410-313-6836.

Complete Family File
Please assist us by completing your Family File at hcpss.org/connect.
- Parents/guardians must verify and/or update emergency information for each child every school year. This is completed online in Family File, which has several new updates including how and where to access. Full details on updating your Family File are available online. Please let us know if you need assistance.
Change of Address
Any change of residency must be reported through Family File within 10 school days of the move. Current residency documentation must be provided to the school each time residency changes.
Student Meals & Payments
For the 2025-2026 school year, HCPSS will be using LINQ Connect for all things food and nutrition. LINQ Connect is a secure, online portal that allows families to make online payments to their child’s meal account, monitor their child’s account, schedule automatic recurring payments, set up low balance alerts, submit a Free and Reduced Meals program application, and more.
Free and Reduced Meals-check your eligibility today!
Students whose families do not qualify for free or reduced lunch will be required to pay the daily meal price. Many HCPSS families are eligible to participate in the Free and Reduced Price Meals (FARMs) program, which provides children with a wide range of benefits including free or discounted college tuition, testing and application fees, academic and athletic program fees, and many others in addition to free or discounted meals. Families are urged to check their eligibility and complete a FARMs application as soon as possible. Families must submit a new application every school year. Details on the Free and Reduced Meals program, including a link to apply, are available online.
