  • A new nurse (Audrey Gilliam) has been hired, and her contact information has been included below for parents who need to send in immunization records and/or other medical information for their students.
  • A new data clerk (Amanda Plumb) has also been hired. Her contact information has been included below.
  • Please remember that the nurse and data clerk are not on contract at this time and are not responding to emails until they return after their summer break. Additionally, a formal introduction of all new staff will be sent in July.

I hope you are enjoying your summer. I think the rain is finally going away, and the sun is coming out soon!

PE Uniforms (NEW INFORMATION)

There has been a change in plans regarding students' attire in PE (NOT ATHLETICS) in for the 21-22 school year. Students in PE WILL dress out in uniforms. The following are options for getting an appropriate uniform for PE:
  • Parents can purchase an approved Frisco ISD uniform through Frisco Sports Center using this link or in person at 10150 Legacy Drive, Suite 200A, Frisco, TX 75033. Online ordering closes on July 25 @ 11:59 PM.
  • Parents may also purchase PE clothing on their own at any store. Students must wear black athletic shorts and a grey t-shirt.
  • This change impacts ALL 6th graders and any 7th/8th grade students who chose PE (NOT ATHLETICS) as an elective.

**7th & 8th Graders who are in athletics (1st or 2nd period for boys/7th or 8th period for girls) are not impacted by this.**

Required 7th Grade Immunizations (NEW INFORMATION)

You should have already received a letter regarding required 7th grade immunizations. As you get immunizations updated, please send the records to our new Nurse, Audrey Gilliam (gilliama@friscoisd.org). Please put "immunization records for <student name>" in the subject line. If you previously sent immunization records to Nurse Solomon or hunt@friscoisd.org, you do not need to send them again.

Reminders:

  • All records during the summer will be updated and confirmed via email after summer break.
  • Students must have the immunizations completed and documentation provided before they can get their class schedules or start school in August.
  • If you did not receive a letter, please email (follow directions above) to inquire if your student is complete or still needs the immunization documentation provided to the nurse office

2021-2022 Incoming 7th Grade Immunization Requirements

Per the Texas State Department of Health, student's Immunization Records are required to show documentation of –

  • Tdap (Adacel, Boostrix) within five years

  • Meningococcal Vaccine (MCV4, MenACWY, Menveo, Menactra,Menomune) at age >11 years old

Personalized letters are being mailed home to inform you what immunizations your student needs to have documented at Hunt to comply, or if they already have these recorded.

Some students have already received these vaccines at their physicals at age 11 or 12. Please check with your student’s physician. If they are complete, request a copy to submit to Hunt. If they have not been given yet, please make arrangements to have them receive the vaccines. We need a copy of the updated immunization record when the immunizations are complete.

Students will NOT be allowed to pick up their schedules or start school in August until these immunizations are complete and recorded at Hunt.

Thank you for your understanding and help getting these requirements met.
