During their time at the high school, students will hear from a student panel about what freshman year is like, meet in a small group with their high school counselor and also experience BHS' first ever Career Expo! The Career Expo includes businesses and vendors from the community and will encourage students to consider what Career Pathways they might want to explore during their time in high school. There will also be faculty and students present to highlight the elective courses BHS has to offer that relate to the various Career Pathways.

As a reminder, all students at BMS-Prairie receive social/emotional learning (SEL)

lessons multiple times a year and during COLT time. In addition, all students have

access to a counseling team member. If you ever have questions about our general

curriculum or supports specific to your student, please feel free to contact a member of

the Prairie Counseling Department.

Barrington 220 is now partnering with an Illinois school safety helpline aimed at providing students a place to report information that might prevent bullying, suicide, and campus violence. Safe2Help is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It allows students to confidentially share school safety issues via a mobile app, text, email, or phone call. You will notice that the "See Something, Say Something" button on our district and school website now links directly to the Safe2Help contact page. We are asking that all students, parents, staff, and community members now use this platform to report safety concerns. In the case of an emergency, call 911. Please be aware that when a Safe2Help report is made which references suicide, self-harm or school safety building staff and/or local authorities will be contacted.

During an emergency situation at one of our schools, it is important for our community to work together. Barrington 220 has developed this tip sheet for parents/guardians, which shares specific actions parents/guardians should take in the event of an emergency.
