iPads

Students will be allowed to take their iPads home after Back to School Night, as long as parents have a signed Device Loan Agreement in ParentVue. If you don't know whether you have signed the Device Loan Agreement, please reach out to your child's teacher. Students need to make sure they are bringing their iPads to school fully charged, and they should be using them for schoolwork at home, not for playing games. In addition, students are the only ones allowed to use their iPads--family members should not be using the iPads. If students are struggling to remember their iPads or are not bringing them back charged, they may lose the privilege of taking home their iPads. iPad chargers will stay at school. Please ensure you have your own USB-C charger at home.

Homework

Students do have homework to complete for fourth grade. The homework will always be the same, with the exception of extra review materials sent home for assessments.
  • 💻 Lexia- they must complete the required minutes/units every week. This is reset every Monday.
  • 📜 VA Studies Weekly Review- Students will have a review worksheet they take home every week. They must complete four problems each day and turn it in on Friday. They should use their notes in their binder or on canvas to help them answer the questions.
  • 📝 Study Guides/Braindumps- We use these resources for students to review before a test. They are responsible for completing them in a timely manner.
  • 🧮 Math Homework- Students will occasionally be sent home with math homework.
  • 📄 Unfinished Work- If students do not finish an assignment in class they may take it home to continue working on it.

Headphones

Parents, students NEED to have a pair of headphones at school to use throughout the day. Students will have videos to watch, passages to listen to, Lexia to practice phonics, and tests that use audio. We do not have headphones at school for every student.

Please send your child to school with a pair of headphones. There are decent, affordable headphones at the dollar store or Five Below.

Headphones can have regular audio ports, USB-C ports, or even Bluetooth compatible.

Graded work will be sent home with students on a regular basis. Please check your child's RED HOMEWORK folder for any graded assignments. We recommend keeping any work sent home for the entire grading period and once the grading period is over, students may recycle them. You can check your child's grade by going to ParentVUE and your child can check their own grade on StudentVUE. If you child has a grade that you would like raised, they may redo the assignment at any time during the grading period. As long as they resubmit it in a timely manner, grades can be adjusted. In regard to tests, students must first complete a study/review activity in order to retake. Retakes are done before or after school so please make sure to reach out to your child's teacher about scheduling a date/time for retakes.
