Central Elementary Bits and Bites
February 17-20th
New Information:
Thank you!
We appreciate families being so responsive and understanding as we navigate winter weather, poor road conditions, and severely low temperatures! We try our best to make a fair and safe decision about school closures and late starts. It looks to be another week filled with bitter temperatures and more snow- please keep an eye out for our weather alerts as we will notify the community of any changes as soon as we feel we are able to make the appropriate call.
We also want to thank you all for another amazing Valentine's Day celebration. The kids did an outstanding job this year and we think our Valentine's Box Contest was the best yet! We hope you enjoyed spending time with your kids creating these boxes- the students were all so proud showing off what they were able to make with their families!
We are looking for a passionate and talented educator to join our CES team!

What is a LEAD MEASURE?
Everyday, students pair up with a classmate that we call an Accountability Partner to check in on their Lead Measure completion. A Lead Measure (formerly referred to as homework) helps students practice skills to achieve their Wildly Important Goal (WIG). Each student has created a WIG in the area of reading based off of their Star 360 scores that they revisit and track their progress in their leadership portfolio and keep a scoreboard of their success. Students understand that when setting goals, certain skills need to be practiced to help them reach those goals in and out of the classroom. Students in the primary hallway have a reading activity to complete, while students in the upper elementary have a reading or writing activity they can choose from a Choice Board. Practicing skills with parents or independently can have a great impact on their achievement and goal progress. We thank you for supporting your student's learning and helping them to achieve their goals! If you have any questions about Lead Measures or student goals, feel free to reach out to your child's teacher!
