The Principal's Office - Mr. McMillan
What an exciting time of year! As we open our doors for another amazing school year, I can't help but feel energized by all the possibilities ahead of us. There's something special about new beginnings, fresh opportunities, and the energy of students reconnecting with friends and meeting new teachers.
To our returning students and families, welcome back! I hope you had a wonderful summer filled with adventures, relaxation, and maybe even a little learning along the way. To our new students and families, we're thrilled to have you join our school community! You're going to love it here.
This year promises to be filled with incredible learning opportunities, fun events, and moments that will create lasting memories.
I want each and every one of you to know that my door is always open. Whether you're a student who needs someone to listen or a parent with questions or concerns, I'm here for you. Together, we can make this a great school year!
Please don't forget to follow us on our Facebook page to stay up-to-date with all the exciting things happening around WMS. From spirit week photos to academic achievements and field trip updates to important reminders, it's the best way to stay connected with our school community.
I am genuinely looking forward to working with all of you this year.
Best,
Jesse
Meetings with Principal McMillan
I want to remind families that I'm always here to support you and your child's educational journey. If you'd like to schedule a meeting with me, you can easily do so using my Calendly link, which you'll find on our school website.
While I encourage you to first reach out to your child's assistant principal for most concerns, as they're wonderful resources and can often address your needs quickly, please know that my door is always open. Whether you want to discuss your child's progress, share feedback about our school programs, or simply connect, I'm here to help.
To schedule a meeting, simply visit our school website and click on my Calendly link. You'll be able to choose a time that works best for your schedule. Phone calls, in-person visits, and virtual Google Meets are all available.
I look forward to connecting with you!
Picture Day is on Monday!
Introducing the WMS Student Lounge!
We're excited to announce the opening of our brand new Student Lounge beginning next Tuesday! This special space has been designed as a reward and relaxation area for students who demonstrate positive behavior and maintain strong attendance. Students who consistently show positive behavior in the classroom and maintain good attendance records will earn the privilege to visit the Student Lounge during designated times. This space will serve as both a reward for their efforts and a place to unwind and connect with peers.
We Need Your Help! To make our Student Lounge even better, we're looking for donations of board games and other age-appropriate activities. If you have any gently used board games, card games, or puzzles that you'd like to contribute, we would greatly appreciate your support. Items can be dropped off at the main office.
Connect with WMS Staff Using TalkingPoints!
We're excited to launch TalkingPoints, our new communication platform designed to strengthen the connection between our school and families. This innovative tool makes it easier than ever to stay informed, engaged, and involved in your child's educational journey.
With TalkingPoints, you can receive real-time updates about school events, announcements, and your child's progress, as well as communicate directly with teachers and staff in your preferred language.
Getting started is simple! Download the App and follow the instructions. We look forward to building stronger connections and partnerships with all our families through this exciting new platform!
Important: Please know that teachers are still setting up accounts, so if a message is accidentally missed, they aren't ignoring you! We will be up and running next week!
