Principal's Message
Term 1 Report Cards - October 20th
Term 1 report cards will go home with students on Tuesday, October 20th. It is crucial that you see your student's report card to discuss their academic standing at the conclusion of the first term. I can't stress how important parent/guardian involvement is in a student's academic achievement, and we need you! Get in those bookbags and ask to see their report card!
Thank you for your continued support of East Union Middle School!
Go Eagles!

This Week in SOAR
Over the past two weeks, students have been putting the leadership principle "Perseverance Creates Confidence" into practice.
Following their SOAR leadership experience, students completed their first Flight Check, evaluated their progress toward their Wildly Important Goal, and reflected on whether their Lead Measures are helping them move forward.
One important realization many students discovered is that leadership isn't about avoiding obstacles—it's about responding to them with determination, flexibility, and a willingness to adjust.
Just like in the classroom, progress toward personal goals happens one small step at a time.
Leadership Principle
Momentum is built through consistent action.
Every small decision to stay organized, complete a Lead Measure, or keep working through a challenge helps build confidence for the future.
Continue the Conversation
Ask your child:
What is one Lead Measure you're focusing on right now?
Have you made any adjustments to your plan?
What challenge have you overcome recently?
How has working toward your goal changed your confidence?
What is your next small step?
Celebrate effort just as much as results.
✈️ Continue the Journey
As a family, think about a long-term goal you've accomplished together.
Discuss:
What helped us stay motivated?
What obstacles did we face?
How did we adjust when things didn't go as planned?
What did we learn from the experience?
Helping students recognize the value of perseverance at home reinforces the leadership habits they're developing at school.
Looking Ahead
In our next SOAR Learning Experience, students will begin exploring how strong leaders encourage others, build positive relationships, and create environments where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.
Our SOAR Partnership
Thank you for partnering with East Union Middle School as we help students build momentum through perseverance, reflection, and purposeful action. Together, we're preparing students to become resilient problem-solvers, skilled collaborators, and confident leaders who are ready for whatever challenges come next.
