It is the last week of January. Where has the time gone? Please be sure to read the newsletter for upcoming events and reminders.

Lunch With A Loved One

Day Middle School will be hosting Lunch with a Loved One on Friday, February 6, 2026. We are excited to welcome guest speaker Kim Karr from I Can Help, who will provide families with engaging information and activities focused on Digital Citizenship.

RSVP due by Monday, February 2nd at 8:00 AM.

Families who wish to attend must complete the Google Form linked below to register for the event:

Hi Day Families!

My name is Jordan Kennedy and I am the AVID Coordinator at CHS. On Friday, I presented to your eighth graders about our AVID Program. AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination. Our goal is to help students close the achievement gap and make sure students are prepared for college and career. I have attached our brochure as well as our application. Please note that your child must fill out the application from their TVUSD email account, you cannot fill it out for them. There are limited spots available, so if your student is interested in the AVID program, please make sure they apply. Applications are due by Friday, February 13, 2026. Students are learning how the body works and are taking notes on the nervous system.

Students work on typing skills to demonstrate technique and control.

Students partnered with choir students from CHS.

Students used annotations to identify figurative language from a passage.

Some Defenders were recognized for their academic improvement.
