Dear Prospect Families,

I am truly overwhelmed by all the love and kindness you shared with me during Principal Appreciation Week! From the heartfelt letters and cards to the beautiful flowers, thoughtful gifts, delicious lunch, cake, and fun Instagram posts, you certainly know how to make a principal feel special!

I have been completely spoiled, and I cannot thank you enough! Every thoughtful gesture, kind word, and sweet message meant more to me than you know.

I often say how lucky I am to be the principal of Prospect, but this week was another reminder of just how special our Panther community truly is. It is an absolute joy to come to school each day and be surrounded by such wonderful students, families, and staff.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making me feel so loved and appreciated. I truly have the best job in the world, and it's because of all of you!

With a very full heart,
Mrs. Cummings 💙🐾

What an incredible Unity Day at Prospect! Our Panthers came together wearing orange to celebrate kindness, acceptance, and inclusion, and what a fun day it was!

One of the highlights was our Prismatic Magic: Kindness Quest Assembly! Students had an absolute blast while hearing a powerful message about the importance of treating others with kindness, including everyone, and standing up for one another. Through laughter, magic, and student participation, our Panthers were reminded that even small acts of kindness can make a BIG difference!

Unity Day was a wonderful reminder of what makes Prospect such a special place. When we choose kindness, celebrate our differences, and look out for one another, we truly shine bright!

At Prospect, everyone belongs, everyone matters, and we are stronger together! 🧡💙🐾

Prospect is turning 75, and we are excited to celebrate this special milestone with our Panther family! On December 11, our 75th day of school, we will come together as a school community to celebrate Prospect's birthday! Students and staff will gather to sing our school song and "Happy Birthday," followed by a special moment when each student will make a birthday wish and blow out their own handheld, battery-operated candle!

In preparation for this exciting day, we will be ordering special 75th anniversary T-shirts for all students and staff to wear during our celebration. A huge thank-you to our amazing PTO for supporting this fun idea and helping make this milestone extra special!

👕 We Need Your Child's T-Shirt Size!

On Wednesday, November 11th, at 1:00 pm, Prospect will be honoring all who have served in the United States Armed Forces. There will be a special assembly open to students, staff and Veterans.

Please complete the special Thank You, Hero Veterans Day Assembly 2026 form so we can add the special member of your family to our Wall of Honor. (If you have completed it in years past, we still have the information.)

Get ready for a fun glow in the dark yoga party Thursday during PE classes! This is going to be a great time to glow, stretch, and shine. For the best glowing experience, please wear white or neon colored clothes.

"GLOW-GA" is an immersive experience where literacy, yoga, and glow in the dark lights and clothing are combined for a Halloween extravaganza. Halloween themed books and words are being turned into yoga poses. Please wear white or neon colors like green, pink, or yellow shirts, shorts, and especially socks! The dark environment helps many beginners feel less self-conscious about their poses and yoga ability! Special thanks to our PTO for supplying us with these fun black lights and our three PE teachers for the opportunity to really make our students GLOW!

Just a friendly reminder to bring donations for the Hinsdale Humane Society into school. The collection drive will end on Friday, October 30th. So far Mrs. Abitz's class is in the lead for K-2 grades and Mrs. Segovia's class is in the lead for the 3-5 grades.

We are getting excited for our Halloween celebration on Friday, October 30! Before the festivities begin, we need your help planning for our extended lunch break.

🍕 ACTION NEEDED: Is Your Child Staying for Lunch?

On Friday, October 30, all K–5 students will have an extended lunch break from 11:45 AM–1:00 PM. Students may go home for lunch and change into their Halloween costumes or remain at Prospect for lunch and recess.

Mark your calendars! Picture Retake Day is scheduled for Friday, November 13, 2026!

Picture proof packets were sent home with students on Friday, October 9. If you haven't had a chance to review your child's pictures, now is a great time!

Not quite picture-perfect? No worries! 😊 Students and staff who would like another opportunity to smile for the camera are welcome to participate in Picture Retake Day.

Important Reminder: If your child is having their picture retaken, please make sure they bring their original proof packet back to school and give it to the photographer.

We look forward to capturing even more wonderful Prospect smiles! 💙📸
