JCMS Weekly Update September 18-22 from Jennifer Kendall, Principal

The JCMS School Store Opens Tuesday, September 19!

Each week your child has the opportunity to earn eBucks as a part of our student behavior system.

Students can earn the following:

$1 - for students earning between 90-94.99% of their eOS points

$2 - for students earning between 95-100% of their eOS points

$1 - for each positive focus tap given

$5 - for being selected as Student of the Week

$5 - for Recognition referrals

The eBucks can be spent at our school store. Students have already started receiving eBucks for their positive focus taps, being selected as student of the week and recognition referrals. Items range in price from 10 to over 150 eBucks, so students can purchase weekly or save for some of the larger items.

ESS is Back!

Jessie Clark will be hosting tutoring & homework help sessions. We encourage all students to attend if they need assistance with catching up on missing assignments, studying for a test, working on a project or just needing a quiet space to work! Students may attend as many or as few sessions as needed. There is no sign-up process, so just make arrangements with them to attend what they need. Students will be asked to sign in upon arrival to track attendance and participation in the program.

Session Days & Times:

  • Monday mornings (7:40 – 8:40)
  • Monday afternoons (4:15 – 5:15)
  • Wednesday mornings (7:40 – 8:40)
  • Wednesday afternoons (4:15 – 5:15)
  • Thursday mornings (7:40 – 8:40)

*Book Club will also be held on Thursday mornings with Mrs. Thomas (Please have your child reach out to her for more details regarding book club).

If you plan on having your child attend any of the morning sessions, please arrive by 7:50 at the latest, so an adult is there to let them in and escort to that day’s session. Otherwise, the doors will remain locked until morning arrival time at 8:40. If you plan on having your child attend any of the afternoon sessions, please arrive promptly at 5:15 to pick up your student. (Habitual tardiness in the afternoons may result in your child being unable to participate in afternoon sessions for the remainder of the school year.)

Please feel free to reach out to Mrs. Hoskins, our building ESS coordinator, with any questions!

See the flyer below to plan with your child which sessions they would like to attend. The schedule will also be posted around the building as well for students to refer to!
