Counselor's Corner
October 2023
During the month of October, I will be focusing on teaching Chapman students about having empathy and why it is an important skill to master.
Empathy is at the root of all healthy relationships. It helps you know how your actions affect others, what actions you need to take to be a good friend or teammate, and it helps you understand more about the people and the world around you.
Empathy Beyond the Classroom
While we are teaching empathy in school. It is a skill that goes far beyond the classroom. Below you will find some books and movies that can further your child's understanding of empathy. Take a moment to ask your children some questions about the media listed below. How the characters are feeling. How the characters make us feel. What could have we done to help.
