Welcome to Week 10, Braves!

Welcome to Week 10, Braves!
Welcome to Week 10,Braves!

Brave Enough to Start, Strong Enough to Finish! Brave Enough to Start, Strong Enough to Finish!

READY FOR WHAT’S NEXT.

πŸ–€πŸ’› Carey Newsletter | Week 11

NEW QUARTER. NEW OPPORTUNITY. SAME BRAVE.

Carey Families and Community,

We did it! Quarter 1 is officially behind us, and Quarter 2 begins NOW.

At the beginning of the year, our challenge was:

BRAVE ENOUGH TO START.

As Quarter 1 came to a close, we challenged our students to be:

STRONG ENOUGH TO FINISH.

Now it is time to take everything we learned and BUILD ON IT.

Quarter 2 is a fresh opportunity. A fresh gradebook. A fresh chance to strengthen habits, set new goals, repair what needs repairing, and decide what kind of quarter you want to have.

You don't need a new you. You need a new opportunity to show what you've learned.

πŸ“ˆ Quarter 2: Build on What You Started

Quarter 1 may be complete, but your semester grade continues! Quarter 2 is an opportunity to look at where you are, learn from the first nine weeks, and make a plan for where you want to go.

Braves, start by looking honestly at your current grades and asking:

What is working? What needs to change? What is my plan?

πŸ“š Check Infinite Campus regularly.
✏️ Stay on top of new assignments.
πŸ™‹ Ask for help before you fall further behind.
🍎 Use Academic Academy when you need support.
🎯 Set a realistic goal for each class.
πŸ’ͺ Follow through on your plan.

A Quarter 1 grade doesn't determine where you finish the semester. The choices you make next matter.

KNOW WHERE YOU ARE.

DECIDE WHERE YOU WANT TO GO.

MAKE A PLAN TO GET THERE.

Quarter 1 gave us information. Quarter 2 gives us an opportunity to act on it.

Brave Enough to Start. Strong Enough to Finish. Ready to GROW. πŸ–€πŸ’›

πŸ€πŸ€Ό Winter Sports Are Here!

Basketball and wrestling season means more opportunities to show our Carey pride!

Remember that academics and behavior matter beyond the classroom. Students must remain academically eligible to attend Carey athletic events.

Take care of business firstβ€”then come cheer on your Braves!

STUDENT FIRST. BRAVE ALWAYS.

And when you're in the stands:

COACHES COACH β€’ OFFICIALS OFFICIATE β€’ PLAYERS PLAY β€’ FANS CHEER

Cheer loud. Cheer positive. Represent Carey proudly.

πŸš— Help Us Keep Every Brave Safe

Families, please continue following our established drop-off and pick-up traffic procedures.

Use the designated parent lane in front of the building and do not use the staff parking lot for student drop-off or pick-up.

Please slow down, follow the traffic flow, watch for pedestrians, and follow staff directions.

SLOW DOWN. FOLLOW THE FLOW. KEEP BRAVES SAFE.

πŸ–€πŸ’› WELCOME TO QUARTER 2, BRAVES!

Quarter 1 gave us lessons.

Quarter 2 gives us an opportunity to use them.

New quarter. New goals. New opportunities. Same incredible Carey community.

BRAVE ENOUGH TO START.

STRONG ENOUGH TO FINISH.

READY ENOUGH TO GROW.

Let's make Quarter 2 count.

That's How We BRAVE!

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR THE WEEK IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR THE WEEK

⭐ Week 11 BRAVE Challenge: START ONE THING

Quarter 1 is finished.

Don't spend Quarter 2 wishing you had done something differently.

Do something differently.

Choose ONE thing you want to improve.

Then take the first step this week.

Because here's what we've already learned:

Starting takes courage.

Finishing takes strength.

Growing takes BOTH. You've got this, Braves!

🟒 Important: PL874 Forms Coming Home

Carey Families,

Please be on the lookout for the green PL874 form coming home with your student this week. Forms will be distributed to students through their advisement classes.

πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§ Carey Family Supports: We Want YOUR Voice!

As we begin Quarter 2, we're also thinking about how we can better support our families.

What would be helpful?

πŸ“š Literacy Night?
βž— Math Night?
πŸ’» Technology Support?
πŸ“Š Understanding grades and Infinite Campus?
πŸŽ“ Preparing for high school?
❓ Something we haven't thought of?

Watch for our Carey Family Supports survey and tell us what would make a difference for your family.

YOUR VOICE. YOUR NEEDS. OUR PARTNERSHIP.

πŸ“ˆ What's Your Quarter 2 Goal?

πŸ“ˆ What's Your Quarter 2 Goal?

Before Quarter 2 gets moving, every Brave should be able to answer one question:

What do I want to accomplish this quarter?

Maybe you want to raise a grade.

Maybe you want zero missing assignments.

Maybe you want to improve attendance or get to every class on time.

Maybe you want to participate more, make a new friend, or improve your behavior.

Your goal doesn't have to be huge.

It just needs to be yours.

Write it down. Make a plan. Then start.

BRAVES DRESS FOR SUCCESS BRAVES DRESS FOR SUCCESS

CAREY DRESS CODE REMINDER

Dress for Success: Ready to Learn. Ready to BRAVE.

At Carey, we want every student to feel comfortable, confident, and ready to learn. A simple way to remember our dress expectations is the 4 Bs:

BACK β€’ BELLY β€’ BOTTOM β€’ BUST

These areas should remain appropriately covered throughout the school day. Our goal is not to focus on fashion choices, but to maintain a safe, respectful, and learning focused environment for everyone.

Before heading to school, take a quick look and ask:

β€œAm I dressed and ready for success?”

When we dress for the school day, we show respect for ourselves, one another, and our learning environment.

LOOK GOOD. FEEL GOOD. DO GOOD.

Basketball and Wrestling season is here, Braves! We love seeing our students in the stands supporting their classmates, but remember that academic eligibility matters when attending Carey athletic events, too!

Students must be academically eligible to attend Carey sporting events. Before heading to the gym to cheer on our basketball players or wrestlers, take care of business in the classroom first!

Students who are not passing should use that time to attend Academic Academy or head home to complete missing work and get back on track.

πŸ“š Check your grades.
✏️ Complete your work.
πŸ™‹ Ask for help.
πŸ† Get eligible. Stay eligible. Cheer on your Braves!
