PIC Parent Update

It was an exciting week welcoming students back to PIC. Teachers and students began to work on behaviors and expectations within their classrooms. Additionally, teachers were introduced to your child as a learner through Fall NWEA Map assessments. Today, Principal Harden and I hosted our first school assembly in the gym to discuss building-wide expectations and to kick off our Energy Bus theme. Our first Energy Bus rule is to create a positive vision. PIC students are encouraged to set positive goals for this school year. Finally, as a reminder, I will be taking a medical leave that begins August 29th. This short time getting to know our new students has been wonderful and I look forward to returning in a few weeks. 5th Grade Band Reminder

Band Parents,

This information was copied from the Band letter already sent home.

Band will run from 2:15 - 3:00 p.m. For the first 2 weeks (August 20-29th), classes would be on Tuesday-Thursday and all 5th grade band students would be asked to be there. This would be our time to build camaraderie, teach them how to set up their instrument and review any music fundamentals.

Starting the Tuesday after Labor Day (September 3) the band schedule would go as follows:

- Monday: Full Band

- Tuesday: Woodwinds (Flute, Clarinet, and Saxophone)

- Wednesday: Brass and Percussion (Trumpet, Trombone, Euphonium, and Percussion)

- Thursday: Full Band

This is the band schedule that will be used for the rest of the year. While schedules may be slightly different depending on the instrument, every student will have band 3 days a week after school.
