Every year, GMSS has the privilege of honoring the members of our South family who have served or are currently serving in the Armed Forces. Veterans Day is a day of memories, commemoration, and above all, giving thanks. Please, let us honor the veterans in your families by completing the following Google Form as accurately as possible.

This is to gather information so that we can appropriately recognize and honor all veterans and current military personnel who are related to GMSS students that will be attending the ceremony. More info will come regarding the ceremony itself as we approach Veterans Day!

Please save the date for 11/11/26 with an approximate start time of 9:15 for our ceremony - our doors and library will be open at 8:30 for all veterans and families to come in an enjoy a cup of coffee and donuts while we wait to start!

This week's career is a Nurse Practitioner.

A nurse practitioner (NP) is a healthcare professional who provides many of the same types of care as doctors. Nurse practitioners can examine patients, diagnose health conditions, order and interpret tests, prescribe medications, and help patients manage their health. NPs can specialize in areas such as family practice, pediatrics, mental health, and women’s health. Becoming a nurse practitioner typically starts with becoming a registered nurse (RN) and earning a nursing degree. NPs then complete graduate-level education, such as a master’s or doctoral degree in nursing, along with clinical training and national certification. Check out the links to learn more about this rewarding healthcare career!

Ohio law now requires schools to track and report all student absences, regardless of whether they are excused or unexcused. Because of this, you will soon receive an update from us regarding your student's current attendance status. This outreach is simply to keep you fully informed and to ensure our school remains in compliance with state regulations. We appreciate your partnership as we work together to support your student's education.

Joining a school or community club is one of the most rewarding ways for kids and teens to discover new passions and build lasting friendships outside the classroom! Beyond boosting confidence and helping students build leadership, teamwork, and time-management skills, being involved in clubs gives kids a welcoming space to belong and explore what makes them unique. Encourage your student to check out the club roster this week and jump into something new!

If you have any questions about a particular club, please reach out directly to the advisor for more information!
