August 28, 2020
Dear Wildwood Families,
This has been another amazing week at Wildwood as we continue to speak with families and prepare for distance learning with our staff! It’s hard to believe that August is already ending, and September is just around the corner. We are busily getting ready to provide the best learning opportunity for our scholars. While we know that this year is going to look and feel different, our goal and mission have not changed. We are excited to roll out our highly intentional remote learning plan that provides each and every child an excellent learning experience for the 2020-2021 school year. Staff have begun preparations for this new school year with clear resolve to meet all scholars’ instructional and social-emotional needs in the distance learning world.
Families, we are here for you as we both learn and navigate this new way of learning and teaching. Together, we have a powerful opportunity to learn from each other and rally around our children to provide them the learning that they deserve and that we have always committed to providing. Please continue to reach out with your questions and comments and provide us feedback to help us best support your family.
Beginning in September, I will be hosting bimonthly Parent Zooms. It is so important that we partner in this work. I want to hear what is working and what isn't working. Please see the first four dates below with Zoom links:

Supply Pick-Up Next Week
We are excited to welcome our scholars back to school for the 2020-21 school year! We are pleased to share the Back to School pickup schedule for next week, which is September 1, 2, and 3.
During your scheduled time, you will have the opportunity to pick up the following items to prepare your child for the first day of school:
- A Welcome Packet containing a back to school letter and Learning Partnership Guide. Additionally, a Continuous Learning 2.0: A Guide for Families will be provided to each household.
- Textbooks
- Instructional materials for your child’s classes
For parents and guardians who’ve indicated a technology need, such as a loaner computer or WiFi Hotspot, you will be notified by the Information Technology Services Department on August 27 or 31 about the availability to check out a device during the school pick-up times. This is based on parents of students who have completed the online registration process at www.fwps.org/onlineenrollment, indicated a need, and based on technology availability. There will be additional technology deployment dates for requests that come through the online enrollment process after August 30.
Please review the schedule below to see which time you’ve been assigned. If you have children in multiple grades, you may choose one of the assigned times to pick up items at the school sites where your children are enrolled.
We welcome you to adjust the day/time that you pick up your scholar's supplies if the assigned day/time does not work for you.
The following safety protocols will be in place for this “drive through” pickup time:
- Staff will wear masks at all times, and will wear gloves to handle materials
- Staff will stand 6 ft. apart, and there will be a limit to the number of people on site at any one time
- Families and scholars must stay in their vehicles.
