St. Mary's Catholic School
May 11th-May 15th
Peace and blessings to you all!
Happy Mother’s Day to all of the wonderful mothers, grandmothers, godmothers, and mother figures in our school community. This weekend, we give thanks for the countless ways you reflect the love of our Blessed Mother, Mary. Your nurturing hearts, quiet sacrifices, and steadfast faith are a beautiful witness to God’s love in the lives of your children. We pray that the Lord blesses you abundantly and fills your day with love, gratitude, and joy.
This week is also Catholic Education Week, a special time to celebrate the gift of Catholic education and the many ways Christ is present in our schools each day. Catholic schools are places where faith and learning go hand in hand, and where students are encouraged to grow not only in knowledge, but also in character, compassion, and discipleship.
We have a meaningful and exciting week ahead. On Thursday, students in Grades 7–12 will participate in a presentation from Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD). This important presentation will encourage our students to reflect on the value of every human life and the responsibility we all share to make safe and life-giving choices.
On Friday, we will add a little sunshine to our week with a Hawaiian Theme Day! Students are invited to wear their brightest tropical shirts, leis, and beach-inspired outfits as we look ahead with hope to warmer weather. To top it all off, we will have our much-anticipated Teachers vs. Students Dodgeball Game. There may be some surprisingly athletic teachers, some very confident students, and perhaps a few dramatic dives to avoid elimination. It promises to be a fun and spirited way to celebrate our school community together. And then, we head into May Long Weekend! Time sure flies when you're having fun!
God bless all of our mothers and families this Mother’s Day.
With gratitude,
The STMY Administration Team
