Peterborough Elementary School
June 15, 2024
Dear PES Families,
I hope this newsletter finds you well. We had a great final week of school at PES:
- Students had a blast at Adams Playground and Pool, visiting the Peterborough Town Library, enjoying a frozen treat at Twist, and picnicking in Putnam Park.
- On Wednesday evening we had dozens of families participate in the Reading with Ribby parade at the Keene Swamp Bats game.
- Thursday, we got to say "farewell" to our amazing 4th graders.
- And at our All-School Meeting on Friday morning, we recognized and celebrated all the summer birthdays (more than 50 of them), said "good luck" and "thank you" to a few staff members who are moving on from PES, and we heard our 4th graders perform amazing songs one final time at PES.
While summer is officially here for students, staff will be in next week finishing up their annual work and preparing for next year already. The office will be open all summer from 8AM-3PM. If you need to connect with someone outside of these hours, please call the main office at 603-924-3828 so that we can accommodate you and extend hours if necessary.
Report cards went home with your children on Friday. If you did not receive one, please reach out to your child's teacher or contact the main office. If you are wondering who your child will have for a teacher next year, please know that that information will be shared later in the summer (typically the first week of August).
Since this is the last week of school, this will be the last newsletter from me. As you may know by now, I will be heading over to Conval High School to serve as the Athletic Director beginning July 1st. For the past 6 years it has been an honor serving the community as the principal of PES. My goals coming to PES were to create a school that students wanted to come to everyday, that staff wanted to work at, and that parents wanted to engage with. I believed that if we could create that kind of learning and working environment, students could thrive. No one person could do that alone, and I am so thankful for the support I have received from the fantastic PES staff, the parents, and the greater Peterborough community. While I will certainly miss the amazing students and families of Peterborough Elementary School, I can't wait to see them again in a few years at CVHS!
Have a great summer!
