Baseball Looking Forward to Busy Week
Snow shortened the week significantly for most of our baseball teams.
Varsity split the week. Monday, the team got a big win at Columbine 12-11. Mark Gleason did a ton of the heavy lifting, launching two home runs and ending the day 3/4 with four RBI. Chase Cowan also contributed four RBI. Freshman Brody Montemayor came in to get the save with a perfect frame in the 7th.
Tuesday the team dropped a game at home, 7-17 against a good Broomfield squad. Christian Mittleman and Ryan Lewison led the team with two hits each.
Congratulations to Varsity Player of the Week, Tristan Myers! (Pictured.)
JV was 0-2 on the week, losing 11-7 to Columbine and 6-0 to Broomfield.
The C team lost their only game to Broomfield, 17-2.
A lot of baseball on the docket this week. Make sure to come out and support your Yotes!

Girls Soccer Kicks It Into High Gear to End Wee
This was a big week for Varsity Girls Soccer. They played Boulder High on Tuesday and lost 0-3. Our Yotes came on the field testing a new formation on a tough Panther team. Boulder got their first goal off of a corner kick. The 2nd Pather goal was also on a corner and some would say the result of a missed foul. The MOHI team did their best to hang on with some good runs down the sideline by Sania Gandbhir. Ava Haughey and Ainsley Coogan worked to help control the midfield. The final goal was scored late in the game.
Thursday was a big game vs. Fairview with another new formation. The weather was not ideal and Fairview scored early on a slippery ball in a mass of confusion. Monarch came back hard and fast but could not score on the Knights keeper. There were some excellent moments of possession and short passes. The team worked well together and this might have been MOHI’s most effective formation to date. Final score, 0-1.
Finally, Friday came and the girls were ready to turn things around! The team clinically dissected a talented Silver Creek team. Once again, they had to fight through snow and rain but the team came through with a number of squad members scoring. Goal Count: Sophia Stalter, 4-Cami Ayandele, 2-Kiki McQueen-1 and Sania Gandbhir-1. Piper Jones and her defensive team of Sammy Olsen, Lucy Ruh, Natalie Shotteger and Kalle Peters protected both Millie Barber and returning Senior Maddie Kennedy from Raptor goals. Final score, 8-1.
This week the team looks to get a big win and defend their home turf against Broomfield (Tuesday JV-4pm, Varsity-6pm) and then will hit the road on Thursday to play Northglenn. (JV-5pm, Varsity-7pm, Five Star Stadium) Come out and support as we look to reach the post season. Skoyotes!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
The Booster Club is run by a FUN group of volunteers who are passionate about helping to create an amazing high school experience for our students! We love and need volunteers to pull it off.
- Membership Coordinator: The Membership Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating between clubs, teams, groups, and community members that would like to join or benefit from the MOHI Booster Club.
- Cave Coordinator: The Cave Coordinator helps to ensure that our wonderful swag shack stays updated with the latest and greatest MOHI apparel.
- Sponsorship Coordinator: This position requires attention before the start of the school year, typically in July: emails, phone calls, and general community outreach to entice local businesses to become sponsors. Most of your time required is during July, August & September, and the physical maintenance of the banners throughout the school year.
If you are passionate about supporting our students and fostering community connections, we invite you to apply for these integral roles in enhancing MOHI’s school's programs and initiatives. We would like to have people fill these roles before May 1. Please contact monarchboosterclub@gmail.com to learn more!
