I hope all of our families had an amazing spring break. Next week we are hosting the Hewes Celebration of Learning on Thursday, April 4th from 6 pm - 7 pm. We invite ALL families to come to campus and see what your student has been learning over the past school year. If you have an incoming 6th grade student we will have a Welcome to Hewes meeting at 5:30 pm before the event kicks off in the Activity Center. This Thursday is also the last day to provide new books for the Ethan and Choco Book Drive for CHOC Hospital. Please MARK YOUR CALENDAR for the Tustin Unified Pathways to Success event that will be held at Tustin High School on Tuesday, April 9th from 5 pm - 8 pm. The evening will include sessions about college admissions, jobs, and career opportunities and is free and open to the public.

Please SAVE THE DATE for the Tustin vs Foothill baseball game at Angel Stadium on Friday, April 12th at 6:30 pm. The Tustin Unified PTA Coordinating Council will be recognizing our PTA Volunteer of the Year, Jessica Howell. We will also be recognizing our community partner, Tilly's Life Center, an organization that has provided so many SEL (Social Emotional Learning) resources to our students.

The Hewes staff is recognizing HIGHLANDERS “H” FOR A DAY AWARD! Highlander for a Day is a program at Hewes Middle School that celebrates students for incredible moments in the areas of Respect, Responsibility, and Results.

We are kicking off the Ethan and Choco Book Drive next week. This is a book drive for children who stay for extended periods in CHOC hospital. As these students are medically fragile, the hospital is strict about allowing only new book donations. For a little fun and to increase motivation, the 1st-period class with the most book donations will win a private 9 Square and donut party. Students need to bring the new books into first period to receive credit for the competition. See the Amazon Wish List. https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/29IQMCYZ71B69/ref=hz_ls_biz_ex
