Our Commitment to Safe, Inclusive Learning Spaces
Dear Piper Families,
Recent events remind us of the importance of maintaining safe, responsive, and welcoming learning environments. At Piper, our learning environment is designed to ensure that every child and family—regardless of background, creed, or identity—feels supported and valued as part of the school community. A strong commitment to safety and care allows students to focus on learning and growth.
Our Ongoing Commitment to Safety and Belonging
Vigilance and Reporting: We rely on our entire community—staff, students, families, and neighbors—to remain alert and proactive. Please continue to report any suspicious or threatening behavior, comments, or activity right away.
Safety and Security Protocols:
Our safety cameras are monitored constantly throughout our school
All visitors must identify themselves before gaining entry to the main door
The Raptor system screens all visitors and volunteers
Every exterior door is monitored throughout the day to ensure it is closed and secured
The door is not held for others entering behind an individual. Every visitor must first identify themselves and be buzzed in.
All learning spaces are locked during use, fostering a safe classroom environment where students can focus and thrive.
Outdoor supervisors wear their yellow safety vests to identify themselves in large crowds.
Family and School Teamwork: Our cooperation continues to be essential. Let us come together to support one another—students, staff, and families—fostering a strong community and compassion within our school.
If you have a question, concern, idea or need to talk, please get a hold of me. You can see me out front of school, call or email me. I am committed to serving the Piper community and it is my pleasure to serve you!
Best Regards,

Eileen Piper-Simpson, 708-795-2364, esimpson@bsd100.org, or via SeeSaw
