Note from Mrs. Lockwood:

Teaching and learning are in full bloom at Clairemont! It's hard to believe we're already in the last month of the school year.

We will also host our annual Field Day event tomorrow. We will continue to monitor the weather. As of now, Field Day is still on!

Families, you can support your student(s) by ensuring they get a good night's rest, eat a healthy breakfast, and arrive on time.

Clairemont Cafe

We are thrilled to invite our second-grade families to the inaugural Clairemont Cafe, a special celebration of our final Wit & Wisdom module of the year! Throughout this module, students have explored how food nourishes our bodies and how shared meals can unite entire communities. During this event, students will "conference" with their families to share their expert learning and reflections on making healthy choices. We are also excited to partner with DHS Culinary Arts students, who will prepare and serve a healthy meal based directly on our students' recommendations. So second-grade families, please join us on Thursday, May 14th, at 5:00 PM to celebrate a year of incredible growth and "nourish" our school community!

Future Bulldogs Visit Clairemont!

This Thursday, we had the privilege of hosting the upcoming kindergarteners who currently attend College Heights ECLC. Our new Bulldogs were welcomed by current students, who are older siblings to some! The Pre-K students got to tour our school, visit a kindergarten classroom, and hear a story in the library before heading back to their school. They'll be here before we know it!

We love you, Ms. Brackins!

We recently celebrated Administrative Professionals Day by recognizing the person who keeps our school running smoothly, front office manager Ms. Brackins! In just her first year at Clairemont, she has become an invaluable piece of the puzzle for our teachers and students. She manages the front office, school orders, scheduling, and so much more! Ms. Brackins knows every student and every parent and ensures each person feels welcome in our school. We are so grateful for all her hard work and her kind presence!

Kids Ages 5-13 Invited to Register for Decatur WatchFest 26 3v3 Soccer Tournament

Decatur Soccer invites youth ages 5-13 (rising K-8th grade) to register for its 3v3 Soccer Tournament, powered by Decatur WatchFest 26, a fun, flexible, and community-focused event led by DHS soccer players and coaches. Join us Saturday, June 20, 8:30-noon at the Decatur High School Stadium with plenty of parking and just a short walk from the Decatur MARTA Station and Decatur WatchFest.

Kids can form a team of up to five players and sign up at the link below for just $75 per team (payable separately via GoFan). With no uniforms required (pennies provided) and small-sided 3v3 match play run by our DHS players, this format keeps things simple while maximizing touches, engagement, and fun for every player.

The tournament is open to girls, boys, and co-ed teams (co-ed teams will play in the boys bracket), with divisions based on rising school year: K-1, 2-3, 4-5, and 6-8. This is a great way to celebrate Decatur WatchFest and FIFA World Cup 26™ while supporting the Decatur Soccer program, and giving your child a fun soccer experience without a big time commitment. Just gather a group, register here, and show up ready to play!
