March 2026
Message from the Directors
Dear Legacy Campus Families and Students,
March is always a season of momentum and opportunity—and this year is no exception! We’re thrilled to share several exciting events and developments happening across our campus.
Next week, our students will engage in Mock Interviews on March 2 and 3—an invaluable chance to practice professional communication, receive feedback, and build confidence as they prepare for future careers. Thank you to the staff and community partners who make this experience possible!
Looking ahead, please note that Spring Break will take place from March 16–20. We hope all students and their families enjoy a restful, rejuvenating week with loved ones.
We’re also gearing up for our 2026 DCSD Legacy Campus Career & Hiring Fair on Friday, March 27. This event is a highlight of our spring calendar, connecting students with employers and industry professionals and helping to launch real pathways into meaningful work.
Construction progress on Phase II continues, and we are excited to see new spaces and opportunities taking shape. The energy and potential these improvements will bring to our programs is exciting.
Finally, we’re excited to share that the first round application process for next school year has recently closed. We’ve now received over 1,000 applications for Legacy Campus programs! This incredible interest is a testament to the strength of our community and the value families place on the Legacy experience.
Thank you for your ongoing partnership, your support of our students, and your engagement in our vibrant campus life.
Warm regards, Dr. Rex Corr

Spotlights
Colorado Aviation Education Grant
On Tuesday, January 27th, the Colorado Aeronautical Board approved the Colorado Division of Aeronautics recommendation for the Legacy Campus' Aviation Pathway Simulator Training Program funding. This $45k in funding will provide Legacy Campus with the opportunity to purchase a RedBird full motion simulator which will be an incredible addition to our Aviation sim lab. You can see an example of the new simulator in action here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8Lsopdwxbo
The purpose and intent of the Colorado Department of Transportation Aeronautics Division's Aviation Education Grant Program is to support education programs, projects, and initiatives in Colorado that have direct application to the state’s aviation and aerospace industry and to promote careers in aviation and aerospace among Colorado students. We are incredibly grateful for this opportunity!
Culinary Guest Speaker
Legacy Campus Culinary & Hospitality students recently welcomed Chef Steve from Escoffier School of Culinary Arts for a hands-on learning experience. He demonstrated professional canapé preparation and plating techniques. In addition to culinary instruction, Chef Steve spoke with students about post-secondary pathways and career opportunities within the Culinary and hospitality industry. His visit provided valuable real-world insight and inspiration for students exploring futures in culinary arts.

Chef's Table Luncheon
Legacy Campus Culinary & Hospitality students recently hosted an Advisory Board Chef’s Table for industry professionals and district leadership. Students designed and executed a nutrition-forward, seasonal menu while providing professional front-of-house service including house made sourdough, seared Colorado striped bass and a refined sugar free chocolate coconut mousse.
Throughout the event, students demonstrated culinary techniques, hospitality standards, and confidence in presenting their work. The event showcased the high level of skill, professionalism, and real-world readiness our students are developing.
Compass Flight Scholarship Recipient
Congratulations to 11th grade Aviation Pathway student, Thomas Sprankle, for being awarded a $3,500 Flight Scholarship from Aviation Compass. This will help cover flight school expenses as he prepares for his checkride.
The goal at Aviator's Compass is to support students pursuing aviation careers with small, yet impactful scholarships to help reduce the shortage of skilled pilots in the United States.

1098 Tax Documents
ACC Concurrent Enrollment students will begin receiving their 1098-T tax document for courses completed through ACC in 2025. The Colorado Community College System prepares and mails IRS Form 1098-T to the student’s home address. In the past, CCCS was able to exclude the printing of 1098Ts if the scholarship amount was equal to or greater than the eligible payment amount. The new process does not allow this printing exclusion. Because of this, you may receive calls from confused students and parents. I’ve attached a 1098-T FAQ to this correspondence to you to help you field most calls regarding this form. or view the 1098T FAQ online) Although it is mandatory that the Colorado Community College System provide this form to all students, CCCS and Arapahoe Community College are not allowed to offer tax or legal advice to students. Parents and students should be referred to their tax consultant to determine if and how to utilize this form in the preparation and submission of their taxes. Further information can be found here.
