The LMS Express
April 4, 2026
Hello all,
The (slightly) warmer temperatures have brought with them an increase in energy and excitement around LMS! We all appreciate the fresh air and extra daylight, and we're ready to make the last few months of the school year full of meaningful and engaging activities.
This week, we were delighted to welcome LHS seniors to LMS as a part of their Senior Day of Service. All of the students that visited brought a sense of maturity and growth that was encouraging for our teachers and staff to be a part of. The future is bright with these folks leading the way!
Be Well,
Tom

LMS Drama Club News
Come see Lebanon Middle School Drama Club's production of Dot & the Kangaroo Jr. on Wednesday, April 15 and Thursday, April 16 at Lebanon Opera House at 7:00 PM. This show is an adaptation of the Australian story about a lost, adventurous, little girl who gets lost in the great Australian bush. She soon bumps into a kind kangaroo who teaches her the ways of the land, animals, and nature.
As they push forward to help Dot find home, they meet many exciting creatures who teach them lessons about friendship, confidence, and unfortunate challenges that many animals face because of humans. On her journey back to her father and sister, Dot grows more courageous and more compassionate for the animals and land around her.
Tickets are by donation, but they can be reserved at this link. Come support your fellow LMS stars!

Senior Service Day at LMS
Wednesday, April 1st was Lebanon High School's Senior Day of Service, and LMS was lucky enough to have a group of incredible LHS seniors visit our school. Seniors spoke to LMS 8th grade advisories about a wide variety of LHS topics, including the importance of communicating with teachers, how much fun athletics and co-curriculars are, and how time management will make all the difference!
We are so appreciative of McKeanna Teevens and everyone at LHS for making this a possibility. It was great to see our LHS seniors!

6th Grade Advisory Fun!
Hockey is a game day favorite for this Spruce advisory
Mrs. Proper's WIN Class
In Science WIN, students have been learning about gravity and how it effects different objects. Students had to work in teams to create a marble run. All students were given the same amount of material and they had to create a marble run that would take the longest amount of time for the marble to reach the cup. Students came up with very different and unique approaches to solve this challenge.
Mrs. Lemelin's Science Class
In science class, fifth-grade students are learning about plants. Students here were exploring the scientific questions, “How does soil affect a green onion’s growth?” and, “ How does water affect a green onion’s growth?” They recorded changes in mass and height after about a week. Students also worked with different materials to create a 3D plant model to show their understanding of this unit. Some examples are shown here. Please ask your students about what materials they used for their 3D model!
6th Grade Presentations - Non-Profit Organizations
Our 6th grade language arts students recently dove into research on local non-profit organizations, exploring their missions through website analysis and even live interviews with organization representatives. Inspired by what they learned, students designed infographics to raise awareness and shared their findings through presentations to 5th grade classes.

LMS Art Merch and Yearbook Design Studio Update
LMS Art Merch Store
Students built our online LMS Art Merch store by creating original artwork and thoughtfully applying their designs to real products. From concept to final mockup, students are learning how artists and designers turn ideas into items people can actually use and enjoy.
This project gives students the opportunity to see their artwork move beyond the classroom and into the hands of classmates, families, friends, and our wider community. It is authentic design work with a real audience, and students are taking pride in seeing their creativity come to life in tangible ways.
Keep an eye out as more student designed products continue to be added.

Camp K Leadership in Training (LIT) Program
The Camp K Leadership in Training (LIT) Program is a fun and hands-on opportunity for middle school students ages 12-13 (as of June 30th) who want to build leadership skills while being part of an exciting summer camp environment. LITs start with a one-week training experience where they learn teamwork, problem solving, activity leadership, and how to support campers and staff. After training, they spend at least two weeks working alongside counselors with campers, gaining real experience mentoring younger students, leading games and activities, and building confidence as leaders. The program is designed to help students grow their communication skills, responsibility, and teamwork while being part of the Camp K community.
For 2026, the LIT program is $130 for Lebanon residents and $160 for nonresidents. There is financial aid available through our Leb Rec website here, and Listen is offering summer camp financial aid as well that participants are able to apply to our camp programs.
Application information can be found here Handbook and Application
