Team,

Please use your time wisely tomorrow to plan high-quality Tier 1 and small group instruction. By the end of the day, all teachers should have solid plans in place for the next three weeks. This is especially important for STAAR-tested grade levels as we continue strong instruction leading up to and following the assessment. Please ensure that all 504, RtI, and SPED documentation is complete and turned in to the appropriate staff.

Important Reminders:

  • Do not take anything down in your classrooms—instruction will continue after STAAR.

  • Please cover anchor charts and all instructional supports on the walls in preparation.

  • We will meet briefly in the cafeteria at 11:00 AM to review a few bullet points.

  • Dr. Murry will join us at 11:15 AM.

  • Lunch is on your own as soon as Dr. Murry wraps up. Please be back on campus by 1:00 PM.

  • This is a full contract day. Staff may leave at 4:00 PM.

Let’s make the most of this time together. Thank you for your continued focus and dedication!

Use the strengths of your team members and the collective expertise here at Walker to support student learning. Lean into the PLC process, trust the system, and continue to push for growth. This is a critical time, and every instructional decision we make matters.

Let’s finish strong—our students are counting on us!

Thank you for your dedication and hard work.

SBOE Approved Instructional Materials List SBOE Approved Instructional Materials List

Linked below is the SBOE-Approved Instructional Materials List, which outlines the curriculum approved by the TEA. These are the materials that Walker teachers must use for Tier 1 instruction. Supplemental resources may only be used to support instruction outside of this list must receive prior approval.

If you are using any materials outside of the approved curriculum, those resources must be submitted for review and approval through our Curriculum & Instruction (C&I) department.

This ensures we align with state guidelines and provide consistent, high-quality instruction for all students.

  • Our partnership with LoveBond Behavior Health has ended as of this month. This partnership provided on site counseling services with a licensed therapist. If parents have questions in regards to services, please use the following language to communicate this change: "Due to unforeseen circumstances, LoveBond has closed its doors at this time. In order to support the continuation of care for your student, please reference the following outside counseling community resource guide (attached in the email). We can also assist with connecting your student with services through 211, Link Kaufman, as well as the TCHATT through our district. We are more than happy to assist in finding the counseling service that will best fit your student's needs."

Student Testing: Discontinuing Kiosk Mode (Information)

  • Audience: All Staff

  • Contact: Dr. Amber Teamann x60112

  • Per Eduphoria support, kiosk mode should not be used as it is no longer supported.

New Process:
Students will access tests using the Student Testing URL:
Once students log in and select their test, Lockdown Browser will launch automatically—no kiosk mode needed.

Classlink Shortcut:
The Eduphoria AWARE Online Testing app has been pushed out to students via Classlink.
This app is simply a shortcut to the Student Testing URL above—it does not mean students are “logging into the test through Classlink.”

Teachers can also provide students with the direct URL to type in, but pointing out the Classlink shortcut may save time.

❗Why the Change?
Kiosk mode behaves differently across Chromebook models and updates, making it difficult to troubleshoot and causing disruptions during testing. Transitioning to the supported method ensures smoother, more reliable testing for everyone.

  • Please help share this update to avoid confusion during testing season. Consistent guidance is key!

Friendly Reminder for Classroom Setup (Information)

  • Audience: All Staff

  • Contact: Dr. Amber Teamann x60112

  • As you continue creating engaging and flexible learning spaces, please keep in mind that our classroom technology infrastructure is not as easily adjustable.

  • Items such as computers, BenQ boards, phones, and network cables are carefully installed to ensure optimal performance, connectivity, and safety. Moving this equipment can result in service interruptions, potential damage, or even safety hazards—especially when cords are left exposed.

  • To summarize:
✔️ Movable: Desks, chairs, bookshelves, and other non-tech furniture
❌ Non-Movable: Technology setups including computers, BenQ boards, phones, and any network cabling

  • Thank you for your cooperation in preserving the integrity of our tech while still cultivating dynamic and student-centered classrooms!
