What an incredible week at the book fair! Thanks to the enthusiastic support of our students, families, and staff, we're thrilled to announce that this year's book fair raised over $3,600 in book profit! This fantastic result means even more new books and resources will be heading to our school library soon.

A massive thank you goes out to every staff member and volunteer who dedicated their time and resources. Your hard work truly made this event a spectacular success.

As a token of our appreciation and to put some of that profit right back into your classrooms, we're inviting all teachers to come by the AT Math/Technology Lab Tuesday morning from 8:05 - 11 a.m. to select 1-2 books from the leftover stock for your classroom libraries. Come find some new favorites for your students!

Thank you again for an amazing book fair!

Please note that this week's library classes will be dedicated entirely to book check-out. There will be no formal lesson or integrated curriculum activity as we use this time to wrap up the book fair and organize our new book purchases into our collection. :)

πŸ“š Free Book Friday πŸ“š Free Book Friday

We're excited to continue our Free Book Fridays, a great opportunity to get new books into the hands of your students and help build their home libraries. This isn't a typical library visitβ€”it's a chance for kids to pick a book of their very own to keep forever.

To participate, simply comment in the LRC schedule a 15-minute slot between 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. in the Friday schedule.

Please keep in mind that this time is just for students to select their free book, not to browse or check out books from our regular collection. To make sure everyone gets a chance, each student can take one free book per visit.

We can't wait to see your students and help them find their next great read!

🎫 Library Passes are Here to Stay! 🎫 Library Passes are Here to Stay!

A big thank you to all the teachers who utilized the library passes to help students visit and find their next great read at the book fair.

We saw how effective they were, so we're making them a permanent fixture! You can now use those five passes any time this school year. If you're missing some, please let us know and we can place new copies in your mailbox this week. :)

The library is a great space for students to utilize their independent time. Please send students down with a pass when they need to:

  • Browse and check out new titles outside of their check-out time

  • Need a quiet space for reading or independent work - please let us know how long they can stay :)

  • Browse the free book section to take home a new book

We look forward to seeing more students utilizing the library throughout the year!

Tech Tidbits and Information

Chromebook Troubleshooting Tips

Here's a how-to slideshow with some basic troubleshooting tips for chromebooks. It includes information on how to fix a sideways screen, clearing your cache and turning off accessibility mode.

Vivi Updates - Extended Screen

For those who wanted to extend their desktops instead of mirror your screen you now can! Using the desktop vivi app you can set up multiple screens. Here's a quick how-to from microsoft or please reach out to Kristine to help!

YouTube Update

Elementary students cannot access YouTube as of June 2025. While this has its good points it may create a wrinkle in your teaching if you want students to utilize secondary video sources. But fear not! there is a workaround.

If you want to continue to use YouTube videos and have students access them you can embed them in google slides. If you have any questions about how to embed videos in your slides please reach out to Kristine. :)

Daily Sub Tech Capabilities

New this year, daily subs will use a chromebook issued from the LRC. These devices can connect to Vivi using classlink, however, daily subs do not have the ability to print.

They also do not have access to many Classlink and instructional apps. Please keep this in mind when you are planning an absence.

Below is a snapshot of what you're daily substitute will see in classlink.
