The GOHS Grizzly Gazette
October 23, 2026
It's Red Ribbon Week at the Den! GOHS proudly joins schools and communities across the nation in celebrating Red Ribbon Week (October 23–31), the nation's oldest and largest drug prevention awareness campaign. Please encourage your student to participate in the Red Ribbon activities and dress-up days listed below. Our goal is to unite in promoting healthy choices and drug-free lifestyles.
On another note, we understand the concerns expressed regarding heavy traffic and delays during morning arrival/drop-off. Please know that we share your frustrations and continue working with the Conroe ISD Police Department to improve traffic flow while prioritizing student safety. One challenge is that TxDOT requires traffic cones along the Grand Parkway feeder road to be monitored by a peace officer. Officers are available to assist from 6:45–7:20 a.m., when staffing permits, but may be called away for emergencies. As we evaluate potential adjustments, we must consider traffic efficiency, and maintaining adequate campus security within the building. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work toward the safest and most effective solution for our Grizzly families.
I hope you have an amazing weekend, and enjoy the cooler weather! It’s GO Time!
Sincerely,
Frederick J. Black, Jr., Ed.D.

The Grizzly Spotlight
GROWL'n Grizzly Gareth Amador is making history!!!
We are incredibly proud to recognize Gareth Amador, Grand Oaks High School sophomore wrestler, for an extraordinary achievement! Gareth has officially signed to become the first wrestler to represent Trinidad and Tobago in international wrestling competition, beginning next spring. In a historic moment for Garth, the Grand oaks community, and Trinidad and Tobago, the President and Vice President of the Trinidad and Tobago Wrestling Federation traveled to Grand Oaks to personally recognize and officially sign Gareth to compete internationally through United World Wrestling (UWW). This remarkable opportunity is a testament to Gareth's dedication, hard work, and commitment to excellence. We are excited to watch him represent both Trinidad and Tobago and Grizzly Nation on the international stage. Congratulations on this incredible accomplishment!
Grizzly Student News Is Officially On the Air!
We are excited to celebrate the successful launch of Grizzly Student News, our new student-led news program at Grand Oaks High School! Each Tuesday and Friday, our talented students produce broadcasts highlighting campus events, student achievements, and important announcements across Grizzly Nation. Adding to the excitement, our student news team recently introduced a mobile podcasting station, which made its debut at this week's pep rally! This exciting addition allows students to capture interviews, showcase school spirit, and bring even more student voices into our broadcasts. The program provides outstanding opportunities for students to develop their communication, creativity, and leadership skills while keeping our school community connected. We encourage all parents and students to subscribe to the Grizzly News YouTube Channel and support the incredible work of our student news team!
