SES Schoolwide Fundraiser: Coming in October!
Booster Fun Run is Back!
This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and here is what you need to know!
What is Booster!?
A school solution provider focused on fundraising through character building and fitness. SES will be hosting a seven-day fundraiser powered by Booster, where we will watch character lesson videos, raise funds to help our school, and celebrate at the end of the fundraiser with a grand fitness event that every student will be able to participate in! Last year, SES made over $30,000 with this Fundraiser, and the kids had a blast!
Key Dates:
Registration on mybooster.com opened September 22, 2026. Mybooster.com is the pledging platform that you can create a student page and collect funds!
Event Kickoff: October 6, 2026. Our kickoff will be when all the fun begins. From this date until the event, students will be earning prizes, working together to help our school, and learning about character.
Event Date: October 16, 2026. This is the high-energy event that all students will be able to participate in! The run will be similar to last year’s event. More info and schedule to come.
How does the fundraising work?
This is a dollar per lap fundraiser. Donations will be based on all students completing the maximum laps. We will not be counting laps.
Students will complete 35 laps in total
A $1/lap pledge = $35 flat donation
Every student will:
Be able to register on mybooster.com (It’s free) and gather donations through a custom donation page!
Get to celebrate school-wide and classroom incentives as we reach our financial goals
Celebrate their school at the big event day
Booster is teaming up with Great Wolf Lodge to provide some "extra" incentives! Your child will earn their Great Wolf Lodge Wolf Ears when they get their first donation. The more you share out the Booster information, the more entries you get entered to win 1 free night at Great Wolf Lodge for your family of 4!
Here’s what you can expect from the Scott Fun Run
Every student participates
Students will complete 35 laps
Parents are invited to the big day to watch the race (schedules will be sent out soon)!
Want to help SES reach our goal?
Register on mybooster.com starting September 22, 2026
Share your students' custom donation page with family and friends!
Parent-Teacher Conferences
Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held at SES on October 21 from 4:00-8:00pm and October 22 from 11:00-6:00pm. Our expectation is that all parents/families will attend conferences on one of these dates with your child's teacher.
Time slots are filled on a first come, first serve basis. Please use this link Fall 2026 Parent-Teacher Conference Sign-Up to register. This is our master list, so please select the correct teacher before signing up. Your classroom teacher will likely send their individual link to you as well.
During fall conferences, you will receive a hard copy of your child's 1st Quarter Report Card, and students in 4th and 5th grade will also receive their results from their IAR assessment taken last spring.
Impact Aid Forms Coming Your Way!
Impact Aid forms are being sent home with students very soon. Impact Aid is revenue from the federal government that is provided to our district based on the number of students who are federally connected. It is very important to keep all family guardians in mind when completing this form as they could meet the qualifications for Impact Aid even if you do not. You will need to complete this form for each child in your family.
A 100% completion rate will help ensure that Mascoutah School District receives the funding necessary to continue providing our students with the best opportunities available to them. Please assist our community in completing the brief form.
For more information, visit the Mascoutah School District "Impact Aid" page under "SAFB & MSD19" at msd19.org. #19EveryStudent

Halloween Dress Up Day
SES students are allowed to wear costumes to school on Friday, October 30. Participation is not mandatory. Please keep the following expectations in mind:
* Costumes must be school appropriate: no toys, weapons, blood, masks, or face paint are permitted.
* Please keep in mind that costumes need to be easy for all students to use the restroom throughout the day. Costumes should also be something accessible for sitting in a chair, on the floor, or participate in recess.
Attendance Reminders
How do I report my student's absence?
Call the office to let us know if your student will be late or not attending by 9:00am. You can absolutely let your student’s teacher know as well, but the office manages attendance for the whole school.
What is an excused absence vs. an unexcused absence?
An excused absence is one where the office knows why your student is not at school. If we do not receive notice from the parent, the absence is marked unexcused. After 3 unexcused absences you will receive a truancy letter. After 6, you will need to meet with the district truancy board. After 9, documentation will be sent to the county truancy board.
What time does school start and end?
School begins at 8:35. Students arriving after 8:35 are marked tardy. The school days ends at 3:30 (2:30 on Wednesdays).
From the Desk of Nurse Nekola
Hello everyone! Just a few quick reminders from the school nurse!
Extra Clothes
If you haven't already, please send an extra set of clothes for your student to keep at school (shirt, pants, underwear, socks) in their locker. Clothing accidents happen everyday (spills, tears, bloody noses, bathroom accidents, etc.). Having an extra set of clothes on hand for your student prevents them from missing prolonged class time and calls home to bring items in. Students are most comfortable and ready to learn if they have their own clothes to change into quickly when accidents happen.
Good lifestyle habits for health and illness prevention
Breakfast everyday - studies have shown that students who eat breakfast do better at school!
Plenty of Sleep - helps with focus, improves concentration and academic performance
Exercise daily - benefits both physical and mental wellbeing
Illness:
Please keep your child home when ill.
Students should be fever free (less than 100.4), no vomiting, and no diarrhea x 24hrs before returning to school
Encourage your student to cough and sneeze into their elbow and good hand washing with soap and water
Any Medications, including over the counter, need a doctor’s order and parent permission form completed to be given at school. Please bring all medications to the nurse, do not send them in with your student.
Refer to the Illness guide for more information. Thank you!
