District Update - June 2
Superintendent's Message
Midview Community,
The last days of the school year brought no shortage of celebration. Academic awards ceremonies, high school and preschool graduations, field trips, field days, and fun filled our buildings as students and staff wrapped up another successful year with excitement and pride.
We closed it all out with a favorite Midview tradition—staff waving goodbye as buses pulled away, horns blaring and smiles all around.
If there’s one word that best captures the spirit of this year, it’s community. Over and over again, it appeared in our strategic planning feedback, and it’s easy to see why. Midview is a place where people show up—for our students, for each other, and for the future we’re building together. This deep sense of connection and shared purpose is what makes our district truly special.
As we head into summer, I hope you find time to rest, recharge, and enjoy the moments that matter most. Whether you’re traveling, soaking up the sunshine, or simply enjoying some well-earned downtime, may the season ahead be filled with happiness and good health.
Even during break, our work continues behind the scenes. Summer is a season of preparation at Midview—staffing, curriculum updates, facility readiness, goal setting, policy review, and professional development are all underway to ensure a strong start this fall. There are exciting plans on the horizon, and I look forward to the work ahead as we continue to move Midview forward—together.
If you have any questions during the summer, please don’t hesitate to contact the Board of Education office at 440-748-5353. Further, be sure to stay connected through our website and social media channels for important updates and back-to-school information.
Thank you for your continued partnership, your trust, and belief in what we do. Here’s to a fun, safe summer—and an exciting school year ahead! We’ll be counting down the days until we’re once again greeted by first-day smiles, high-fives, and new beginnings.
Enjoy your summer!
Dr. Frank Major, Superintendent

Middies in Action
Our 19th Annual ARTastic Fest was truly the most wonderful celebration of student creativity, talent, and expression! Thank you to everyone who joined us to support our Middie artists from all grade levels and to enjoy an impressive showcase of over 1,000 works of art.
With more than 100 student-created upcycled arcade games and eight space-themed STEM activity stations, our annual K–6 STEM Night was out of this world! It was amazing to watch our students and their families put their superpowers of problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity into action.
We were truly touched by the outpouring of kindness from our amazing community during staff appreciation week. From sweet notes and flowers to treats and over 200 donated raffle items from local businesses, every gesture made our team feel seen, valued, and celebrated!
To close out the school year, students of all ages took part in fun and enriching field trips—from exploring the wonders of science and nature to enjoying some well-earned fun! Destinations included Playhouse Square, the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, Lake Erie Nature & Science Center, Cedar Point, Mill Hollow, the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, and Lake Erie Crushers Stadium.
This year, Midview Middle School’s Students 4 Change group brought the No One Eats Alone initiative to our lunch periods, inspired by the national Beyond Differences program. The goal? To help students feel seen, included, and connected by creating a culture where no one feels left out. At lunch, students were invited to stop by the Students 4 Change table—on their own or with a friend—to take part in a “Heart and Hands” activity. Each student pair wrote their names and something they shared in common, celebrating the idea that even small connections can make a big difference.
The last week of school brought one of our favorite traditions—Field Day! Our students look forward to these fun-filled days of friendly competition, and this year was no exception! They enjoyed a variety of activities and challenges, even having the chance to compete against some of their teachers! It was the perfect way to wrap up the school year with laughter, movement, and school spirit.
