The French Creek Title 1 team organized an engaging and interactive Reading and Math Game Day on Tuesday, November 12th, exclusively for Title 1 students. The event was filled with a variety of educational games designed to make learning fun and exciting. Students participated in activities like Tensies, Name That Number, Pop, and Word Racers, sharpening their reading and math skills in a playful environment.

In addition to the games, students enjoyed snacks and received a special gift to take home as a memento of the day. The Title 1 team is already planning another game day, promising even more fun and opportunities for skill-building. Stay tuned for details on the next event—you won’t want to miss it!

I am pleased to share that our French Creek students are generally very kind and well behaved. However, this is a very exciting season for our students, and excitement is already building for the winter break. It would be very helpful if every parent would take a moment to sit down with your child(ren) to discuss appropriate behavior, expectations and consequences. It is most important to remind students to keep their hands and feet to themselves, use kind and respectful words when speaking to others, and follow directions the first time they are given. We want to do everything possible to ensure that school is a safe and positive environment for all students at all times. Thank you for your continued support.

Colder temperatures are quickly approaching and we may soon be faced with inclement weather. Please take a moment to check all of your emergency contact numbers and emails in Skyward. It is important that you receive up to the minute information regarding school closures, delayed opening, or early dismissals.

The Giving Tree is a French Creek tradition of kindness and generosity. We will again be collecting gift cards for our families in need. If your family would like to participate, please:

• Send your Amazon, Target, Walmart, and Giant gift cards (in any denomination) in a sealed envelope to Mrs. Baylor’s attention OR drop your gift card donation in the “Giving Tree” drop box in the main office.

• Please mark the amount on the gift card.

• Gift cards will be collected through December 4th.

French Creek will be hosting a Spelling Bee on Tuesday, December 3rd. Come out and watch our amazing, brave spellers take the stage! Please see the times listed below. 🐝

1st and 2nd Grades- 5:00-5:45

3rd and 4th Grade- 6:00-6:45

5th and 6th Grades- 7:00-7:45

Our French Creek Winter Concert will be on Wednesday, December 4th at 7:00 PM. The concert will feature our 4th, 5th, and 6th grade chorus members.

Report cards will be available to parents via Skyward Family Access on Friday, December 6th at 3:30 PM. Please notify your child's homeroom teacher if you wish to request a hard copy.

Hour of Code is December 9th-15th. This is a week where millions of students from all across the world participate in at least 1 hour of coding activities (and their teachers join in too) to demonstrate that everyone can learn to code. This year, our STEAM department has prepared both plugged and unplugged activities for classes to enjoy.

The FCVPTA will be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair December 6th through December 14th. Volunteers are needed to help make the book fair a success. Please click here if you are able to assist.

French Creek Drama Club proudly presents FROZEN KIDS on Friday, December 13th and Saturday, December 14th at 7:00 pm. Tickets can be purchased in advance through this link or at the door (Cash only). Join us as Anna, Elsa and friends take us on a magical, musical journey which promises to be like a warm hug!

Get ready for some rest and relaxation. Wear comfy clothing or holiday PJ's.

Schools will be closed Monday, December 23rd through Wednesday, January 1st for the winter break. We will welcome students back to school on Thursday, January 2nd.

Please make sure your child arrives to school appropriately dressed for winter weather. Students will be expected to wear whatever they were sent to school wearing when they go outside for recess.

The Citadel Heart of Learning Award program honors exceptional teachers throughout the Greater Philadelphia area. Teacher nominations are now being accepted! Please take a moment to nominate a French Creek teacher who has touched the lives of others. We are extremely proud that Mrs. Hess and Mrs. Troutman were selected to represent OJR in recent years.
