Known as “Barge, Refrigerated, Large” (BRL), they were towed to various locations in the Pacific, distributing ice cream to smaller ships. This sweet treat provided a much-needed comfort to sailors far from home, showing how small comforts can make a big difference in maintaining high spirits during challenging times.
