MARCH ATTENDANCE CHALLENGE
During the month of March, we will be tracking each grade level’s attendance. The percentage will be updated weekly. The grade level with the best percentage for the entire month will earn the reward of a magic show and cotton candy!
Students who attend school regularly are 2.5 times more likely to graduate from high school, setting the stage for future success in higher education and the workforce. This statistic emphasizes the long-term benefits of instilling a sense of responsibility and accountability through regular attendance.
4th GRADE WINS THE DAYS OF PEACE CHALLENGE FOR THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY
Our 4th graders earned the opportunity to vote on a reward for our Days of Peace Challenge during the month of February. As a grade level, they had the most days of peace throughout February. They chose a movie and popcorn, freshly popped by the fabulous PTO of Liberty Elementary, SCOH. Each 4th grader also received a free kids’ meal at Applebee’s.
LIBERTY MATHLETES
IREAD TESTING CONTINUES THIS WEEK FOR 2ND GRADE
2nd Grade will test on March 7-12.
Test make up days are March 13, 14, 15.
Attendance is important. Do not schedule any dentist or doctor appointments during these days.
Students need headphones and their chromebooks charged for testing.
School Store
School Store is a simple online school fundraising program helping your school raise money as supporters shop at top retailers like Walmart, Target, Kohl's, Best Buy, and hundreds more. Supporters can also donate gift cards directly to teachers to buy supplies for their classrooms.
Packets went home on Monday. There is no obligation to purchase to participate! All parents do is send 6-9 emails. After entering 6 emails, parents will get a code to write on the envelope and return to school. Your student then brings the envelope to school and gets their Hugger! Purchasing is optional and will just add to the possible prizes they can earn.
Chromebook Insurance
Chromebook insurance is a separate fee this year for $25. If you signed the paper at Back to School asking for insurance the fee has been assigned to you in Skyward. The insurance is not effective until purchased. You can pay through Skyward or send exact cash or check to Liberty Elementary. Change will not be given. It is not too late to still purchase insurance if you opted out before. We strongly encourage all parents to purchase insurance.
Communication
Every Friday you will receive a weekly newsletter. This is the school's way of communicating important events and sharing all of the fun from the week.
You will also receive recorded notables and Remind text messages from the school on your phone.

The School City of Hobart uses Remind to communicate with families via text messages and/or phone calls.
What are some ways that we use Remind?
- District News- Weekly newsletter, emergency closings, and other important information
- Class Reminders from Teachers - Events, tests, homework, due dates
- Announcements and Celebrations
- One-on-One Help
If you have not been receiving our messages and would like to, please reach out to your student's teacher for their Remind class code, which you will then text to 81010. For example, if you wanted to join a class with the class code @math, you would text @math to 81010.
March Nurse's Corner
Check out this month's Nurse's Corner to learn about the immunizations, sports physicals, and what to do when your student is sick.
