Message from the Sunfield Administration

Hello stallion families,

Wow! What an amazing day! Our Apex Fun Run and fundraiser were so much fun. Thank you to everyone who donated and came out to cheer on our Stallions today. The entire event was a huge success, and we are so thankful for your support.

Next week is another busy one. We will be celebrating Red Ribbon Week, kicking off our food drive, holding our second Synergy Rally, having our Book Character Parade for PK–2nd grade, and enjoying our first Club Day. The fun never stops around here!

Lastly, thank you so much for helping us keep our students safe by not parking in the front parking lot during afternoon dismissal. We have seen a huge improvement, and we truly appreciate your partnership and cooperation.

Attendance Week of October 13 - October 16

Only two of our grade levels met or exceeded our 96% attendance goal this week. Pre-K had over 98%--way to go! 3rd grade has achieved our goal two weeks in a row. Let’s keep working together to make every day count. Thank you, Sunfield families, for making attendance a priority. Every day matters. Let's finish the month strong.

Red Ribbon Week

Gifted and Talented Referral Information

Hays CISD campuses will accept referrals for gifted and talented services until October 31st.

Referrals can be made in two different ways. The first option is to complete an online referral at THIS LINK. The second option is to complete a paper referral. Copies of the paper referral form are available in the front office of each campus and should be returned to the campus counselor.

Assessments will be conducted from November through January. Evaluation of student data and selection of services occur in February. Parents are notified by email in March of the final determination of services.

If your child is already identified as G/T, he/she does not need to be reassessed. If you have any questions contact Yareli Melendez at Yareli.Melendez@hayscisd.net or 512-268-2141.

At Sunfield, we are excited for our Stallions to have the opportunity to rotate through six different specials: PE, Art, Music, Library, STEAM, and Spanish!
