Let’s Finish the Year Strong – Viking Expectations Reminder
Dear Redwood Families,
As we approach the final stretch of the school year, we are asking for your partnership in reminding students to stay focused, make positive choices, and finish strong. This is an important time, and we want every student to end the year with pride in their effort, behavior, and growth.
At Redwood, we remind our students daily: Vikings - We Have Rules. These expectations help ensure a safe, respectful, and successful campus for all.
Be Prepared
- Students must come to school each day with their school ID and a fully charged Chromebook. IDs are required at nutrition and lunch, and also to check out a Chromebook loaner. Replacement IDs are available in the main office for $5. Please note: more than one Chromebook loaner will result in Tuesday School.
No Phones
- Cell phones must be OFF and AWAY for the entire school day, from the moment students enter campus until they leave. Phones are never allowed in bathrooms or locker rooms.
Use the 5-Star Hall Pass
- Students must use the 5-Star Hall Pass anytime they leave class or attend a club. This helps us maintain accountability and safety on campus.
Kindness Counts (Very Important)
- We expect all students to treat each other with respect. There is zero tolerance for foul language, derogatory remarks, or racist comments. We promote inclusive language and expect students to include others. A simple rule: If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.
- And always remember: Keep your hands to yourself.
Keep Our Campus Clean
- Students should take pride in our campus by throwing away trash properly, not throwing food, and avoiding gum on campus.
Thank you for your continued support in reinforcing these expectations at home. Together, we can help all of our Vikings stay on track and end the year strong.
Teacher Appreciation Week
Redwood Middle School is proud to celebrate Teacher Appreciation with a week dedicated to recognizing the incredible work, care, and commitment of our educators. Throughout the week, staff will be treated by our wonderful PTSA with tokens of gratitude to highlight just how valued they are by our community.
Our teachers go above and beyond each day, creating engaging lessons, supporting students academically and emotionally, and building a positive school culture where all students can thrive. Teacher Appreciation Week is a meaningful reminder of the lasting impact they have, not only in the classroom, but in shaping the future of our students.
We are grateful for the passion, dedication, and heart our Redwood teachers bring to their work every single day. Thank you for all that you do!

CAASPP Testing : April 22th - May 15th
State testing continues in English classes this week.
- This year Redwood students in grade 6, 7 and 8 will participate in testing through their individual English and Math class periods. There is no special schedule for state testing. Classes will take place as normal.
- Each test has been assigned a week during which your English or Math teacher will test students during the normal class period. Each test is untimed and students may pause and resume progress as needed over the course of the testing window. We are utilizing this schedule because it provides shorter testing sessions in order to support student individual focus and attention.
- Families should review the CAASPP testing letter by clicking HERE.
Thank you for giving your best effort on this year's CAASPP testing!
