Back Elementary School Library
Dec. 2023 Recap & Jan. 2024 Activities
New Year, New Books
So far this school year, we have added over 225 new books to the library!
Elf on the Shelf - December
Reader's Theater - December
We loved seeing Ms. Pickner and her 2nd grade students in the library perform Reader's Theater. Did you know TeachingBooks.net has over 500 Reader's Theater scripts? Scripts are usually adapted from books and novels. Reader's Theater is a strategy that combines reading and performing. Also, students have to collaborate as they read and perform their roles.

Bluebonnet Books 2023-2024
Students in grades 3-5 are encouraged to read at least 5 books on the Bluebonnet Books list before deciding on their favorite. Students in grades 3-5 will vote for their favorite Bluebonnet Book in January 2024.
Braum's Book Buddy
Braum’s Book Buddy is a reading incentive program for students in grades 1-5. Each student can earn up to 6 treats from Braum's per school year by reading! To participate, teachers distribute Book Buddy booklets to students and then monitor book reading by placing a Book Buddy sticker in the student booklets for each book read. When a student has read 6 books and has earned 6 stickers, the teacher rewards the student with a coupon for a free treat from Braum’s. Families can redeem Book Buddy coupons at Braum's.
