Winter Party
Winter holiday parties are coming soon! Please remember that if you plan to attend you must have an approved background check. If you have never done one before you will complete it at this link. If it has been a year or more since you completed one you will need to email Devinnie Wysocki at dwysocki@nbas.org to have your renewal completed. Please allow at least one week for your background check to be approved. No one without a completed background check will be admitted into the building. Thank you for your cooperation with this matter!
Lost & Found
Is your child missing any clothing items? Our lost and found at school is getting pretty full. This includes clothing, jackets, water bottles, and many more items. Please have your child check the lost and found for any missing items. It is located outside of the art room. Labeling your child's winter clothing with their name will make it easier to return missing items.
PTO Holiday Shop
The holiday shop will be the week of 12/9 (shopping days Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). The PTO will be seeking volunteers during class shopping times and a sign up will be sent out soon.
Sickness
Sickness season is in full swing! We are encouraging lots of handwashing at school. If your child is sick, contact Mrs. Bowen at 269-469-6069 to inform the office of their absence. Below are some tips for helping keep your child healthy.
BASE Updates
1. Please remember to send your child to school with the proper winter gear. We go outside longer than recess during the school day.
2. The 2nd trimester enrichment schedule is attached below.
3. Enrichments for 2nd trimester begin on Monday, December 9th!
Updates from Mrs. Haskins
The Word of the Month for December is Empathy: Understanding and connecting to other people's feelings. Students are learning about Empathy in Wow Time with Mrs. Haskins and throughout the school building. Please see the attached newsletter about ways students can practice Empathy at home.
Positive Behavioral Inteventions and Supports (PBIS) in December
The word of the month for December is Empathy
This month we will focus on teaching students how to show empathy at school. Students will be able to spend their bison tickets to "beard" a staff member like Santa. The staff member that has the most bison tickets donated in their name will wear the beard at the holiday parties on December 20.
No Bullying School
New Buffalo Elementary has a zero tolerance for bullying! If you believe your child is being bullied you may use the link below to report it to our staff. We encourage you to talk with your child's teacher or myself if you have concerns at any time.
