Thursday, December 7th - Live, virtual Q&A for 8th grade parents with BHS counseling department

Wednesday, December 13th - BHS counselors visit Prairie for transition presentation to students

Tuesday, December 5th - Monday, December 18th - Course selection open for 8th grade students (***more information to come on this process***)

Tuesday, January 30th - Prairie students visit BHS for a tour and informational sessions

Winter Wonderfest at BHS celebrates the season with interactive experiences from our district students and staff. Join in the fun on December 8th and 9th! Find more information here.

As a reminder, all students at BMS-Prairie receive social/emotional learning (SEL)

lessons multiple times a year and during COLT time. In addition, all students have

access to a counseling team member. If you ever have questions about our general

curriculum or supports specific to your student, please feel free to contact a member of

the Prairie Counseling Department.

Barrington 220 is now partnering with an Illinois school safety helpline aimed at providing students a place to report information that might prevent bullying, suicide, and campus violence. Safe2Help is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It allows students to confidentially share school safety issues via a mobile app, text, email, or phone call. You will notice that the "See Something, Say Something" button on our district and school website now links directly to the Safe2Help contact page. We are asking that all students, parents, staff, and community members now use this platform to report safety concerns. In the case of an emergency, call 911. Please be aware that when a Safe2Help report is made which references suicide, self-harm or school safety building staff and/or local authorities will be contacted.

During an emergency situation at one of our schools, it is important for our community to work together. Barrington 220 has developed this tip sheet for parents/guardians, which shares specific actions parents/guardians should take in the event of an emergency.
