The Fowler Weekly
February 20-24
MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Fowler Family,
We completed the Winter diagnostics for both ELA and Math iReady assessments and are seeing strong gains across the overwhelming majority of demographics in the school. Teachers are working hard to cover their course specific content standards and our ELA and Math teachers are providing time for students to move through the iReady My Path lessons in class each week. Those efforts combined with your encouragement of working on My Path lessons at home as homework are moving the needle. Please continue to ask your student to use some at home time on the My Path ELA and Math lessons each week as the additional skill growth will set your child up for greater success when they enter high school.
If you are interested in sharing your career or if you have access to a facility 8th grade students can tour on April 27th as part of a larger career day, please let us know by filling out the attached link.
Be well,
Andy
HAPPENINGS
There is an ASA Indoor Soccer Jamboree this Thursday, February 23 at Hazelbrook Middle School.
Jamborees run from 3:35-5:00pm
Buses will return students to Fowler when the Jamboree is over.
ALL STUDENTS WILL NEED A RIDE HOME...They will need to be picked up between 5:15pm and 5:30pm.
In an effort to provide the best possible customer service, we would like to remind you to give us a call, (503)431-5000, or send a note, if you need to pick your student early. As Spring approaches, many of our teachers are using the outdoors as a canvas for their teaching and sometimes the students are out and about on the campus and a little more difficult to locate.
NOW, LET’S CELEBRATE!
Our students were recognized with Fist Bumps this week at grade level assemblies during Morning Meeting. Join us in celebrating the following students who were recognized for being either Safe, Respectful or Responsible:
The celebration continues with Attendance Awards. They were handed out in Morning Meeting at the end of the week. The following students all had greater than 95% attendance during the second quarter. That is quite an accomplishment. Way to go, Falcons!
6th GRADE PARENTS - OUTDOOR SCHOOL
It is NOT too late for your child to turn in their permission slip.
PLEASE HAVE THEM TURN IT IN TO THE MAIN OFFICE TUESDAY MORNING.
Also, if your student is NOT going, we are required to collect a permission slip saying that they are not going. If you have not turned that in yet, please have your student turn it into the Main Office Tuesday morning. We will be reaching out to all families that have not turned in their permission slips in the next few days.
One of the most popular questions we are receiving is “which camp is my student going to?” We will have which classes are going to which camp ready to announce by The Fowler Weekly next week.
