Welcome Back, R.E. Thompson Families! Let’s LEVEL UP!

We are so excited to welcome our incredible students back to R.E. Thompson Intermediate for the 2025–2026 school year! Whether you're returning or joining us for the first time, we are thrilled to partner with you as we “Level Up” to new heights of growth, positivity, and academic excellence.

This year, our theme Level Up reminds us that every day is an opportunity to grow stronger, aim higher, and ensure that every child is supported and encouraged to reach their full potential—academically, socially, and emotionally.

We are incredibly proud of the AMAZING Academic Achievement and Growth our students demonstrated on the Spring 2025 ACAP State Summative Assessment. We can’t wait to celebrate and share that progress with you soon!

At R.E. Thompson, we care deeply about each student. We strive daily to provide a safe, supportive, and challenging learning environment that nurtures the whole child.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if there is anything we can do to support you or your student—we’re here for you and ready to make this the best year yet.

Let’s make 2025–2026 unforgettable. Let’s LEVEL UP, RET!

With excitement and gratitude,

Tiger Time Extended Day Tiger Time Extended Day

Dear Parents/Guardians:

As the calendar turns to July, Tuscumbia City Schools shifts its attention from closing out the last school year to opening up an exciting 2025-26 school year. Our school system received some unfortunate news when we learned that our 21st-century after-school program would no longer be eligible for the grant we have been using for the past three years. That means funding for our “Tiger Time” program at both G. W. Trenholm and R. E. Thompson will revert back to families paying for after-school care. While the financial burden is put back on our families, Tuscumbia City Schools will continue the program’s strong academic focus, community involvement, and social/emotional development. We have looked at neighboring after-school programs and will work hard to keep the costs as low as possible while still staffing our program with highly qualified, certified classroom teachers from our schools. Below are some of the basic details of our “Tiger Time” program that you may be interested in as you decide on your after-school plans. More information can be found in the links at the bottom of this notification.

  • Tiger Time will run from the end of the school day until 5:30

  • Students from PreK through 5th grade are welcome to attend

  • It is scheduled August 11, 2025 - May 15, 2026

  • A $30.00 registration fee is required per child

  • The cost is $45.00/week for one child or $40.00/week per child for more than one

  • All payments will be received through the My School Bucks payment method

  • There will be no Tiger Time on scheduled shortened days or during weather events
