Dear St Mary's Community,
As we mark the 60th anniversary of St Mary's, it has been a joyful and memorable time across our school community. We were delighted to celebrate this special milestone with a Mass led by Fr Evans, giving us the opportunity to come together in prayer and thanksgiving for all that has been achieved since our school was founded. We were also honoured to welcome members of the Servite Sisters, whose vision and dedication established our school sixty years ago and helped shape the values that continue to guide us today.
In preparation for these celebrations, the children have been creating a wonderful range of artwork, reflecting on our history and what makes St Mary's such a special place. It was a privilege to welcome parents into school for an open afternoon to view the beautiful pieces the children had produced. Their creativity, talent and pride in our school were evident in every display.
You will read later in this newsletter about the election of our new School Councillors. We congratulate all those who were successful and know they will represent their classes with enthusiasm, responsibility and leadership throughout the year. We look forward to seeing the positive contributions they will make to our school community.
Finally, thank you to everyone who supported our Macmillan Coffee Morning. It was wonderful to see our community come together for such an important cause, and we are delighted to have raised £120 for Macmillan Cancer Support. Your generosity and support are greatly appreciated.
As we celebrate our rich history, we also look forward with excitement and optimism to the future of St Mary's. Thank you for your continued support and for being such an important part of our school family.

We were also joined by the Servite Sisters who founded our wonderful school! Thanks everyone for coming and making the celebrations so fantastic.
We have had a lot of celebrations in our school last week. The children from houses, St Vincent de Paul and St Therese of Lisieux, lead the whole school in prayer and liturgy. The children were also invited to wear their house colours.

The children in Dove Class, created very impressive home-learning projects about The Great Fire of London. It was marvellous to see such creativity 🌟This is just a small selection of the projects...head over to our Instagram to see more!
🏀Our first Community Spotlight!🏀 We were delighted to welcome back a former St Mary's Priory pupil and House Captain, who shared his inspiring basketball journey with our pupils. A wonderful reminder to keep going, embrace new opportunities and use our gifts and talents.✨
Children in 6D worked together to create posters exploring how sin damages relationships, linking their learning to The Fall in Genesis. Through discussion and creativity, they reflected on how Adam and Eve's choices affected their relationship with God and others, and how our actions can impact relationships today.
Introducing our new School Council!
On Friday, we hosted a coffee morning to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Research. Thank you all for attending and giving so generously. A big THANK YOU to Olive Dining for supplying the cakes.

Class Prayer: 6D
Dear God,
Thank you for this new school year.
We are excited to reunite with our friends and learn more about our new teachers.
Please help us to build up our wisdom and courage to excel in our SATs,
to show respect to one another, become role models,
and to treat others fairly.
Help us to be resilient
so that when we ‘fall’ we ‘bounce back’.
Give us confidence and mental clarity when we struggle.
Please help us to be loving and compassionate,
and to always care for our world.
Guide us to be the best version of ourselves.
Let us be kind and resilient,
bringing happiness wherever we go.
Thank you for always being there for us,
and please help us to do our best this year.
Amen
