EVERY CHILD. EVERY DAY. EVERY CHILD. EVERY DAY.

Dear Lincoln Staff,

As our year comes to a close, I want to thank you for all you have done this year. First, thank you for welcoming me to the building and trusting in me as we work to fulfill district initiatives and improve the educational opportunities for our students. Embracing and undergoing new leadership is not easy, regardless of your occupation. It's even more difficult when you are a teacher, isolated in a room where you are making the decisions about what happens on a daily basis. Moving rooms is also very uncomfortable as we become very attached to our classrooms, and they feel like home to us. So, to all of you that are embracing the school-wide vision and focusing on the positives instead of the negatives--THANK YOU! You are making a difference for our students, your colleagues, and our families.

Secondly, thank you for ALL that you have given to make the educational journey for your students better this year. It truly takes a team to diagnose, discover, and implement what our students need. Our families felt that effort this year, and they respect our partnership with them.

At the awards assembly, I got choked up when talking about our staff. Emotions flood my mind when I think about the talented group of individuals that I work with. Being an educator is not an easy job in today's political climate. However, it is evident that you are all up for the challenge and that you arrive at work each day ready to give your all to each and every student. Thank you for being a talented, devoted, and inspirational group of educators. I am honored and privileged to work with ALL of you!

As you know, the building is a construction zone this summer. Key cards will be turned off so that the building remains a controlled, safe environment for workers. Think of this as a blessing as you are now forced to enjoy the ENTIRE summer break and not come to school.

If you begin to feel stressed about your ability to be ready at the start of next year, remember that we are all in the same boat. Our families know that we will need time at the beginning of the year to organize and get classrooms ready. Allow yourself that same grace that administration, our students, and our families will give you.

So, again I want to thank you for an amazing year! The summer orders are to relax, have fun, and enjoy all of your loved ones!

Happy Summer Vacation!

A HUGE thank you and thoughtful farewell to Ashley

I want to take a moment to thank Ashley for her year of service at Lincoln Elementary School. We are so thankful that Ashley chose to take on this important role as an Instructional Aide this year. Her work throughout the building helped our students and our staff immensely. We know that we will continue to see Ashley throughout the building next year, just not as an employee. So, this is definitely not goodbye, Ashley! However, we do thank you for a tremendous year, and we are so thankful that you were a part of our staff this year!

Building is Closed

Key cards are turned off, and access to the building is shut down. Leath Ann and Tiffani have a workspace set up with the other Elementary secretaries at the high school. They will be working in the English Department workroom. If you need them in the next couple of weeks, you can call our Lincoln phone number 926-3700, and still reach them.

Should you need me, please call my cell phone. I will be working in lots of places!
