Dear Northfield Public Schools Families:

Our nation observes American Education Week from November 17-21. Public education is crucial to our nation’s success!

I would like to thank our dedicated team of educators, who work diligently each day to fulfill our vision of preparing students for lifelong success by developing critical thinkers who are curious and ready to engage in society.

I would also like to acknowledge the questions I have received regarding how the school district would respond to federal immigration agents on our campuses. The protocols remain the same as those described in 2024-25 Family Update No. 18.

First and foremost, we will support our students and prioritize their feelings of being valued and safe at school. Although it would be unusual for federal immigration agents to conduct enforcement exercises at a school, the district follows a standard protocol to respond to any outside agency seeking to access our campuses.

As always, do not hesitate to contact me with feedback or questions about the school district. Thank you for your continued partnership as we work together to do good things for kids.

Sincerely,

Matt
