Principal's Corner- October 16, 2026
Dear Families,
Thank you to all the families who have been making time to join us here at Enfield. This Friday was filled with Mystery Readers in Kindergarten. We had plenty of family helpers in our First Grade healthy meals event as we finished up our Human Body unit. And last week, we had chaperones join our Second Grade field trip. We look forward to those of you who can see our Halloween Costume Parade at the end of this month (Fri, Oct 30, 9:15 AM). And most importantly, we look forward to Parent-Teacher conferences the week of Thanksgiving.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to your child's teacher and our whole school team will collaboratively support your student and your family.
Happy Autumn,
Dr. Kuhn, Mr. Fleming, and the Enfield Staff

Halloween & Fall Celebration Details
Dear Enfield Families,
On Friday, October 30th, we will host our annual costume parade. This is an optional event for students and families. Families are invited to attend the outdoor parade, weather permitting.
For students who do not celebrate Halloween, we will have an alternative event that will provide fun fall activities for students. This alternative activity takes place at the same time as the parade and classroom celebrations. If you would like your child to participate in the Fall Celebration INSTEAD of the Costume Parade/classroom party, please RSVP by clicking here.
The parade will begin promptly at 9:15 am.
Here are a few reminders about the parade:
Please send your child to school dressed in their costume on the 30th. Also, please make sure all costumes are appropriate for elementary school children. Make sure there are no dangerous accessories brought to school.
Family members are invited to stand on the sidewalks and around the perimeter of the bus loop. The side entrance on Paper Mill Road will be blocked off and a member from our facilities department will be there to assist with the parade.
Students will walk in the order of Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade. Students will then return to their homerooms for classroom celebrations. The entire parade should take no more than 30 minutes.
Please use the Enfield Parking lot to park and walk through our playground to the bus loop (off Montgomery Ave). We encourage carpooling due to limited parking.
You do not need your clearances to watch the parade outside along our parade route.
Only the family members who have been identified to support classroom parties will be permitted inside the building. Volunteers may only enter from the front office of the building and must bring their ID.
Second Step Lessons of the Week
Kindergarten:
What Is My Child Learning? Your child is learning how to ask assertively
for help from an adult when he or she is stuck and doesn’t know what to do.
Ask your child: What can you do when you are stuck and don’t know what
to do? First try really hard by myself to figure it out. Then
ask another student for help. If I still can’t figure it out, ask a teacher or another adult for help.
First:
What is my child learning?
Students are continuing to learn that situational clues can help you identify other's feelings. Understanding how others feel improves relationships.
Ask your child: Use your body language (gestures) to show me how you would feel if you spilled your milk.
Second:
What Is My Child Learning?
Your child is learning that being assertive means asking for what you want or need in a calm and firm voice.
Ask your child: How can you ask for help assertively? Possible answer: “Excuse me, could you please help me?”
