Superintendent's Weekly Update

April 29, 2022
Dear Weymouth Public Schools' Families,
It's been a great week for Weymouth Public Schools! As it begins to look and feel more like spring, many of our schools enjoyed some time well spent outside this week.
Earlier in the week we celebrated our Administrative Assistants on National Administrative Assistants day, and different programs and projects throughout our schools. Most notably. Academy Elementary School celebrated being crowned the ST Math Champions with a disco dance party, and as promised, a pie throwing victory. Congratulations to Academy on their Challenge win, and thanks to all who participated, and helped coordinate, this exciting challenge. As a district, we completed 3,609,545 puzzles and 4,559,493 minutes. Great job to all and the ST Math team!
Yesterday's annual Special Olympics School Day Games took center stage as our schools participated in a celebration of inclusion, sportsmanship and positivity that was truly enjoyed by all our Kindergarten through Grade 12 students and staff members.
The positivity continued last night as our School Committee welcomed some very special guests, students from Nash Elementary School to share some important updates and highlights from inside the Nash School community. To all our student presenters, great work, you all made the district very proud!
We have several exciting district events in the coming weeks, including tomorrow's Weymouth High School Diversity Summit, and the new Maria Weston Chapman Middle School Parent Information Night for incoming sixth grade families on Monday, May 2. The details for these events, and others, can be found below.
We hope you'll join us at the Diversity Summit tomorrow, and we welcome you to join us in celebrating our educators all week next week during Teacher Appreciation Week (Monday, May 2 - Friday, May 6).
We’ll see everyone back in school on Monday!
Best Regards,
Robert Wargo
